Program Overview

The vibrant cultural heritage of Galway, known as the Cultural Capital of Ireland, will be a unique and impressive part of your academic and social experience in this program. A globally focused, research-led university, University of Galway (formerly NUI Galway) was established in 1845, and its iconic quadrangle building welcomed students four years later. Today, it is home to 18,000 students, 4,000 of whom come from 110 countries. You’ll be able to choose from the University's wide variety of course offerings in the humanities, sciences, business, engineering, and law. To make the most out of your study abroad experience, you can also take courses in Irish history, language, and culture. The campus is located just 15 minutes from the heart of Galway, considered Ireland's most international city and cultural capital. While all instruction is officially in English, the University of Galway maintains a strong commitment to the Irish language.
