This program develops your understanding of the historical background and current issues impacting community life, as well as South Africa in general. It gives you firsthand experience while working on a service learning project within the local community. Live in double rooms in the university residence hall at the heart of campus life, allowing you to make friends and be part of the student community. Program Highlights
Earn 8 credits from Stellenbosch University through the 4-week summer program.
Travel to the West Coast, Cape Town, Robben Island and more.
Minimum 2.8 GPA. Open to sophomores, juniors and seniors
The local AIFS Resident Director and staff organize cultural activities and housing, act as a liaison between students and the university, and are available 24/7 in case of emergencies.
Over 50% of our study abroad participants receive financial support from AIFS in the form of scholarships or grants.
