African HoofBeatz is based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and offers a small-group equestrian placement centred on retraining ex-racehorses for polocrosse and other second careers. Open year-round for 3 to 12 weeks, the programme is designed for all riders and welcomes a maximum of 4 participants at a time, creating a personal, hands-on experience. Guests stay in a cottage on the family smallholding and become part of daily life on a traditional Zimbabwean equestrian property.

Participants work alongside Andy Taylor and his family, helping to retrain horses, improve their horsemanship, and learn the fast-paced sport of polocrosse through schooling, chukkas, and tournaments. The experience also includes outrides, a 3-night horseback wildlife camping safari, and opportunities to engage with the local community and Zimbabwean way of life. African HoofBeatz is ideal for riders looking for more than a standard riding holiday: it combines practical horse work, sport, adventure, and cultural immersion in one distinctive programme
