Teaching English remote village near Chitwan Nepal
I went to this placement to teach English, however, I learned far more than I taught. My host family have become part of my family and a part of my life. The teachers at my school were, appreciative and extremely helpful ensuring I felt welcome. The school staff all nurtured me so I easily made the adjustments to their school, culture and customs. In the two months I spent in the village I became part of the community and was invited to homes for tea, included in religious ceremonies including a death in the village and a wedding celebration and all of the village traditions associated with the preparition of the home for the wedding. I would recommend this programme to anyone who wishes to experience a journey of descovery while giving and sharing yourself in a wonderful community.
