No! This program is open to everyone, whether you’re a beginner or already have some knowledge of astronomy. You do not need any previous training or skills to participate.

Do I need to speak Spanish?

No prior Spanish is required. The program includes 30 hours of Spanish language classes to help you communicate and immerse yourself in Chilean culture.

How long is the program?

The program lasts four weeks: 30 hours of Spanish classes and a two-week Astronomy Observation and Research internship at a prestigious Chilean university.

What will I do during the internship?

You’ll explore concepts and theories of the universe, practice observation techniques, and use astronomy software and tools such as telescopes. Participants also visit a professional observatory as part of the program.
