Medical Spanish Courses

The Medical Spanish Program at Academia Buenos Aires combines general Spanish instruction, specialized medical vocabulary, an introduction to healthcare systems in Latin America, and hospital shadowing in Buenos Aires. It is designed for pre-med students, graduate students in healthcare-related fields, and professionals such as physicians and nurses looking to build the language and practical skills needed for medical studies, clinical training, and communication with Spanish-speaking patients. During Weeks 1–2, mornings are spent in general Spanish classes in small groups (max 8 students), organized by level, alongside afternoon sessions introducing healthcare systems and medical terminology. Weeks 3–4 shift to hospital shadowing at a private clinic, where students observe physicians across specialties such as cardiology, dermatology, and pediatrics, and discuss cases afterward. Each Friday includes a review session with a professor. Students who are beginners in Spanish must complete a three-week intensive Spanish course (60 hours) before starting this program. Hospital shadowing requires proof of vaccinations, insurance, institutional affiliation. Certificate upon completion.
