What an outstanding experience! I did not speak a word of French when I arrived in Switzerland and after only 2 weeks I can confidently say that I have learned a lot and feel able to launch deeper into studying French. Their tutors, the French courses, my pairing with such a kind family, and the surrounding beauty of the Swiss Alps far exceeded my expectations about this experience. I highly recommend Alpadia to anyone looking to efficiently progress forward with a language!

I spent 5 action-packed months in Berlin. You never know what to expect next here, the city is so full of surprises. When something unusual happens, like people dancing at the entrance of the metro with an improvised DJ, all you can say is: “this is Berlin!” Alpadia is well located in Shoneberg which is an amazing area where locals live. It is surrounded by many restaurants, cafes and a shopping centre. Also, the neighbourhood is beautiful just to walk by. The school offers many activities and outings every week, which gives you an opportunity to meet more people and further discover the city. You can go to karaoke with people from the entire school, not just your group so it is a perfect opportunity to further meet more people. For me, Berlin means: crazy evenings, art galleries and black & white pictures taken from a photo booth… Viel Spass!

I went online to look for French courses in Switzerland and the most recommended one was Alpadia. I was lucky to go to Montreux in Switzerland, where I stayed with a host family for 3 weeks. The time there went by very fast because I really enjoyed myself. Montreux is very pretty and Alpadia is the best French school in Switzerland. I did private classes with an amazing teacher Hugues, where he gave me the liberty to talk about topics that I chose. At school all the staff were very nice and professional. After class there are activities that are organised by them and I also really liked going. It was an excellent opportunity to practice my French. On top of that, it was the perfect introduction to Swiss culture. The activities were diverse: sport, cooking, cultural and entertaining evenings. The multicultural environment and stunning landscape appealed a lot to me. I will never forget this experience.

My stay at Lyon was a very memorable experience. At the beginning, I was a little bit anxious because it was the first time I travelled alone but as soon as I got there the staff and school itself made us feel comfortable straight away. The school is small and has a very family-type atmosphere. The teachers were like friends, friendly and funny and always available if we needed help or advice. The school is located in the heart of the city and well-served by public transport. Lyon is amazing, especially by night because the two rivers are illuminated. You can enjoy every area of the city, especially the historical part, the “Vieux Lyon”. I can only recommend this destination to everyone! I really had a great time there and in the end, I didn’t want to go back home. I recommend it fully!

I’ve heard that Berlin is a super international capital, with an amazing nightlife, culture scene and delicious food from around the world. That convinced me to choose it as the perfect place to do a German course. I found Alpadia online and they organised my stay perfectly: the classes, the accommodation and the transfer from the airport went very well. During my stay, I made many people from around the world; we visited the city together and had a great time. I can now say that I have made close friendships with people from around the world which is amazing! It was pleasant to study in such a language encouraging atmosphere. I have already studied in 2 other schools, but Alpadia is the best! I'm thinking about coming back so I can perfect my German

I attended the Alpadia School in Berlin, for one week only and I wish I had taken the time to stay more. This was an amazing experience for me. I was able to fully immerse myself into the culture, traditions and language all at once. In my opinion, everyone should take the time to do this once in their lives. After only a week of German courses, I found that my confidence to use German in conversation is really strong. The teachers are very patient, fantastic at visually displaying grammar understanding along with the coursebook and listening activities. What amazed me the most is the other students in my group. All of us had a different reason for studying the language - from attending the course as a hobby, to continue the studies to looking to improve your CV. The teachers take this into consideration for each one of us and they mould your experience depending on your project. They are extremely patient, sympathetic and so knowledgable in their teachings. You may think one week is not enough, I would strongly advise the combi course is taken to gain the full benefit of group activities with the personal teachings on a 1:1 basis. Whether you stay for one week or one year. The staff makes you feel so welcome. Everyone is so friendly. It´s a place you seriously get out what you put in. I put my heart and soul into my course and truly returned to the UK with a vast knowledge I know I would not have achieved through any other form of learning.

I had a B1 level of French and decided to go on a language learning adventure in Switzerland and learn more and hopefully gain a B2 level diploma. I spent 4 weeks at Alpadia and it was the best experience of my life. The teachers and staff are very kind and considerate of the students. At the end I decided to go for an official certificate DALF B2 and passed it. It was only because of the excellence of the teachers and the help they provided. During our first day, the teachers asked each one of us what our goals so they could adapt the course to our needs. It was just the best experience ever. If you ask me why I chose Switzerland it was because of the safety and security that Montreux provided being a smaller city. Thank you for everything Alpadia!

There are 3 official languages in my county (Switzerland)- German, French and Italian. So as I do not speak German, it is important to have a certain level of it, especially if you want to advance your career here. So, I decided to book a course at ALPADIA because from what I researched online I saw that the course structure and duration are very flexible. The enrolment process was super fast and within a week I was there. From what I saw, during my stay there, I can say that the school is well organized. I did the combo course and I think it was the right choice for me. My goal was to reach the B1 level, however as soon as I came here, I realised that I will need more time to achieve this goal. So, make sure to first let the teachers and the study advisors what are your goals, because they can guide you more towards what you are looking for. I like Freiburg very much! It is not too big nor too small; it is similar to Switzerland. It is always easy to travel to Switzerland - which is good for me because I have a few job interviews there.

I didn’t speak a single word of German when I arrived in Freiburg and left with a C1 level diploma! When I decided to dedicate 9 months of my life to learn a new language I was looking into all possible options there were on the market. I found Alpadia and booked a 9-month Standard German course and host family accommodation with them. It was the best decision that I have ever made. I was a little anxious before coming as I had never been to Germany and didn’t know what to expect of the school, the family and the people there. However, all my doubts went away on the very first day there. The teachers are very attentive, dedicated and knowledgeable. They adapted the classes to each student individually, depending on your goals. It is their learning method that allowed me to make rapid progress and achieve my goal at the end. In addition to the courses, the school offers various activities and excursions in order to give us an opportunity to learn more about German culture. The other students came from all over the world and made my stay in Freiburg an unforgettable experience. I met people from Switzerland, Turkey, the United States, Spain, France, Russia, Japan, Uruguay and Australia. The host family was great and we talked in German everyday. It was a great opportunity to discover German culture in an authentic setting. Definitely one of the best experiences in my life.

At first, I wasn’t very excited at the prospect of taking a German language course abroad, because I didn’t like the sound of the language at all! I knew it was something that I had to do if I wanted better job opportunities. However, once on-site, I changed my mind radically and I was very happy to be there and dive deep into German. The teachers were so passionate that it really made me want to learn. My language skills improved quickly and significantly. I met people from all over the world and I learnt a lot from them. It was an experience for all senses because you might go with the main reason to learn a language, but you leave with so much more. You meet people from different parts of the world that you also learn about their cultures and it is a unique experience to discover this new city all together but with different perspectives. Such an enriching experience that really lasts a lifetime. I went to Freiburg and then Berlin: the two towns are very different but they are both charming. Freiburg is peaceful and green, with excellent nightlife venues. Berlin is bursting with people, history, parties and discoveries.

I spoke a little bit of French when I arrived in Montreux, but I was not able to express myself in the way I wanted. I went for 10 weeks and during my stay I studied a lot of expression and comprehension verbally and orally. The best part about my course and this school are the teachers and the staff. First the teachers have an amazing approach to the material. They try and make every class interesting and dynamic. There were people from all around the world but mostly Switzerland. The teachers and the other staff members were always available and helped me with my French, the after-school activities and questions about Montreux. I really want to thank Nina and Alice for helping me a lot during my stay!

The amount of progress I made studying French at Alpadia has been more than worth the admittedly high price. The teachers are all very competent and diligent, and the curriculum itself is very well organised. On top of that, not to mention all the amazing after-class activities they organise, it makes the immersion experience much better and interesting. If you are looking for an experience to take French learning to a different level, this is the right school for you. It was a treat - thank you Alpadia.

ALPADIA Lyon is an amazing language school. The teachers are very organized and super helpful. Also the staff at the reception helped me a lot to organise my stay in Lyon, gave me tips on what to do and see in Lyon during me stay. They also gave me a few tips about transport and all general information about the city, some interesting events, etc. I learned French, but the amazing part is that you meet people from around the world, you make international friends.

After working for 9 years, I decided to take a break and improve my German with an intensive German course in Freiburg (also in order to be able to work in German-speaking Switzerland). I chose Freiburg because the city is close to the Canton of Tessin (Italian-speaking Switzerland), which made it easy for me to go back home whenever I wanted. Besides, I had spent a holiday there and had really enjoyed it. During the first weeks of the course, I met many people from Switzerland and the whole world and I had friendly, experienced and dedicated teachers. I liked it so much that I decided to extend my stay for another 10 weeks, for a total duration of 22 weeks. At the end of those 22 weeks, I took the TELC exam for level B2. During my stay, I tested different accommodation options: apartment, residence and host family. Freiburg is a beautiful town, not too big, which is home to lots of welcoming restaurants and bars where you can have lunch at a reasonable price. It has plenty for sports fans: I could practise squash and beach-volleyball. Besides, the public transportation network is excellent and well organised. During these 22 weeks at the school, I improved my German language skills, had a great time and made new friends. In short, I recommend the Alpadia school and the town of Freiburg im Breisgau to everyone wishing to experience a language study stay combining learning and leisure. I also thank the staff of the school.

I took into consideration both Berlin and Freiburg destinations that Alpadia offers, however, I at the end I wanted to be in a small city, closer to nature (and less chance to meet other Koreans) I chose Freiburg. To compare it to my home country, everything was very different: clean, fresh air here, many bikes, not so many cars and natural surroundings. When I came to Alpadia I could barely talk, and thanks to the amazing teachers, staff and my host family, I feel like a whole new world has opened up to me. I now speak German and have my German family. The host family experience is one that I recommend to everyone. They taught me German culture and I showed them Korean. The German courses are where you learn the language rules, but I think the activities afterwards that were organised and lead by Alpadia is where you best hear German in daily life practice. I came twice to Friburg as I loved it very much and I can not be more grateful for Alpadia giving me the best experience.
