What inspired you to work for RMC Asia?
RMC Asia assists students and young professionals in finding internship opportunities across Asia. I love contributing to the growth of the new generation by matching them with excellent opportunities and seeing them develop through our programs. It is very rewarding and this is one of the main reasons why I have joined this great organization.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Watching our interns secure placements in fantastic hotels at our destinations is incredibly rewarding. The excitement they feel when being selected and preparing for their departure is contagious.
I also love counseling and advising our participants on how to start their careers and grow in the hospitality field. Having gone through the same experience, I know that all the efforts at the beginning will pay off in the future.
What advice would you tell your pre-travel self?
Be open to new experiences, ready to overcome challenges, and have an open mind for what lies ahead. Every step is part of a journey that will help me grow. Traveling to a new place will come with its own challenges, but the reward will be greater than the challenges. I would advise myself to be positive and enthusiastic about what is to come.
Why should someone choose RMC Asia over competitors?
We are leaders in Asia. At RMC Asia, all of us are specialists in our destinations. We have lived and worked there, and most of us, like myself, have a background in hospitality. We know the business, the programs, and the visa process, and can anticipate the challenges our participants might face.
We specifically choose to work with hosts in hospitality because we want to focus on and streamline our offerings. Any participant who has worked with us knows that we are always there. We not only match interns with opportunities but also coach, counsel, and build a relationship of trust with our participants.

Why do you do what you do?
As a student recruitment manager, I am passionate about helping students and fresh graduates find the right internship opportunities that align with their goals and aspirations. I do what I do because I believe in the transformative power of education and the importance of matching students with programs that will help them thrive academically, personally, and professionally.
I love to learn about students' ambitions and goals, and I like to think that by participating in our programs, I am contributing to their growth and potential at the start of their careers. Seeing students succeed in their internships, gain confidence, and move closer to their career goals is what motivates me every day.
How do you help support participants?
Our role is to match students and fresh graduates with opportunities that closely align with their goals. Our support includes everything from the initial call with participants to addressing and identifying the best programs, destinations, departments, and durations based on their preferences.
We also assist with interview preparation, visa assistance, sessions on dealing with cultural shock, and preparation for this transition. Additionally, we provide travel support and in-program assistance. We ensure the training program is planned in advance and follow up with the HR and Training Managers at the host organization, including issuing the certificate of internship completion.

What advice do you have for individuals thinking about going abroad?
My advice for individuals thinking about going abroad is to thoroughly research your destination and plan ahead. Understand the culture and local customs to ease the transition and enhance your experience.
Be open-minded and adaptable, as living in a new country can present unexpected challenges and opportunities. Learn about the cost of living, local laws, and social norms. Embrace new experiences, meet new people, and step out of your comfort zone. Going abroad can be incredibly rewarding, offering new perspectives, skills, and lasting memories.
What is RMC Asia's mission and how do you continue to work toward it?
We understand that finding the right people is a critical component for companies striving to meet their business objectives. We also know that finding the right career path is of the utmost importance for young professionals. Matching the right people with the right Cultural Exchange Program option in Asia is our top priority.
What do you hope participants take away from your programs?
We aim for participants to gain professional insights through their work in hotels or departments and acquire new skills that will benefit their future careers. Additionally, we want their experience to enrich them personally by exploring local cultures, connecting with diverse individuals, and engaging in cultural exchanges. Participating in our programs offers a holistic 360-degree experience.

Why is it important for people to travel abroad and experience new cultures?
Traveling abroad and experiencing new cultures is important for several reasons, such as broadened perspectives, personal growth, cultural awareness, enhanced career prospects, exposure to new languages, traditions, and histories, and providing invaluable learning opportunities that surpass classroom teachings.
Overall, traveling abroad and experiencing new cultures enriches individuals personally, academically, and professionally, contributing to their overall growth and understanding of the world.
What does meaningful travel mean to you?
To me, meaningful travel means surpassing the traditional approach of merely visiting new places around the world. It involves an experience that teaches you about the world and other cultures. It means fully immersing yourself in the experience and being prepared to embrace everything that it has to offer.
