What inspired you to go abroad?
It was a Tuesday afternoon. I was sitting at home, and thinking about life and what I should do with my life. I was slowly becoming bored of life, as it was in my home country and knew I wanted to see the world and learn from other cultures. I knew some people in Thailand so I started asking around and finally, I decided that is how it shall be. I got everything in order and started my adventure with closed eyes.
Teachers in Thailand
Why did you choose Asian College of Teachers (ACT)?
I got some advise from friends that it was a good program and fairly priced among others, and had an amazing staff and support system.
What was your favorite part about Thailand?
Thailand has a great culture, and the new foods that I tried and experienced were just amazing. The country has great people that are friendly and welcoming too.
What made your experience abroad unique?
The TEFL teacher was just amazing, she made me forget about being homesick and about the culture shock. She was just great and that is what made my experience unique; it was just the amazing staff of ACT.
AMAZING Miss JUNE TEFL Bangkok
How did local staff support you throughout your program?
They were just amazing, helping whenever they could. Miss June was amazing, she just shared so much love and understanding while teaching us the amazing things of TEFL. AMAZING JOB!
Great making new friends
Describe a typical day in the life of your program.
Get up with joy in your heart knowing you will learn something new within the first ten minutes of class. The best was lunch time, everybody sharing experiences and past stories learning from different cultures and people. The afternoon session was great, we kept learning new things and had some time for assignments, and then had some amazing conversations again until the lights died out and people went to bed.
What did you enjoy doing in your free time?
Talking to new friends and learning about things that I did not know other people do in their countries.
Days out and about
What was your accommodation like? What did you like best about it?
The accommodation was great; it had friendly staff and amazing food.
What's one thing you wish you would have done differently?
This is a question up for debate. I would not have done anything different because I would not want to change the experience I had for anything in the world. We cried, we laughed, it was just amazing and changing something would change the experience that changed my life.
How did your time in Thailand impact your life after your program?
I never went back home because I had too much fun in Thailand. I am still here!
Would you recommend your program to others? Why?
Yes, I would because it is life-changing and just amazing!
What is your best piece of advice for future participants?
Be open to having a great time and be willing to jump out of your comfort zone.
