Born and raised in London, James left England and decided to move to Taiwan, for what was supposed to be a year, to learn Chinese. However, he quickly fell in love with Taiwan and has never found it in him to leave. Starting as a complete beginner when he arrived at Taiwan Mandarin Institute, two years into his Chinese language studies James applied for a management job within the school and was elated when he received the job offer. He now gets to help new students follow the same path that he did just a few years ago as program coordinator at Taiwan Mandarin Institute.
