Koreans highly value education, taking between 11 and 15 subjects per semester that vary from liberal arts to science. After school, you can join new friends as they watch movies in the DVD-bang (DVD or video room), sing karaoke at the noraebang (singing room), or play video games in the PC-bang (computer room). Private specialized academies for personal interests like dancing, drawing, or physical fitness are are also popular in South Korea. During weekends, many riversides are occupied with picnickers and the mountains are filled with hikers.
