The shallow seabed of continental shelves is critical to a sustainable future, as it provides a potential home for the urgent expansion of offshore wind farms. This seafloor can also, however, host fragile ecosystems and cultural heritage. This course illustrates the different methods used to characterize the seabed, a crucial step in responsible net-zero development. It will show how experts from various disciplines (e.g., Engineering, Oceanography, Marine Geophysics, Archaeology) are needed for these projects and how they collaborate to achieve sustainable development in the offshore environment. There is a discount of 30% on tuition fees if you apply by 31 March 2025.
