Sotheby’s Summer Institute is a two‑week pre-college program for high school students who are passionate about art, culture, and creative industries. Located in the heart of New York City, the program immerses students in one of the world’s most influential cultural capitals, offering unparalleled access to museums, galleries, auction houses, and artist studios.

Led by distinguished faculty and art‑world professionals, each course blends classroom learning with behind‑the‑scenes visits to world‑class institutions, giving students a firsthand understanding of how the art world functions. Courses include: Global Art History: Movements and Masterpieces, Art Business: Markets, Museums, and Money, and Inside Luxury: Culture and Couture, each offering an immersive introduction to key areas of the art and luxury worlds.

These courses helps students identify college majors aligned with their interests and build a foundation for future study in creative fields. With New York City as their campus, students experience the art world up close while developing confidence, creativity, and early professional insight. The Summer Institute is open to rising grades 10–12 and graduating seniors.
