On this three-week summer service program for students completing grades 9 – 12, travel to stunning Himalayan villages to volunteer and experience life in the foothills of the world's highest mountain range. Join community service efforts and work with local NGOs and community groups to provide education and health support in remote villages. 

In addition to service work, trek along the base of Sagarmatha, known in the West as Mount Everest, stopping in Sherpa villages to sip tea and meet with local people. Get a firsthand understanding of core Buddhist teachings on a meditation retreat and listen to harrowing tales of survival from Tibetan refugees forced to flee their homeland. Encounter sadhus, or Hindu holy men, as you wander Kathmandu's labyrinth of markets and pagodas and take incredible photos of urban life.
