iSpiice offers a unique 2-week mini-break volunteer program in India, which is specially designed for those who have limited time abroad. During the program, you will enjoy sightseeing in Delhi after your arrival in India, followed by volunteering with women and children aged 8 to 16 years old. On weekends, go on a trekking adventure in the Himalayas at Dharamsala. A Taj Mahal trip in Agra will culminate your volunteer program and you will be dropped off by an iSpiice staff member at Delhi airport to catch your departure flight.

This program gives you the opportunity to work with community children and street children or with a women empowerment project. Tasks generally encompass teaching basic English (including grammar and vocabulary), computer skills (typing, Microsoft Word and Excel, internet, email writing, etc.), and job skills (CV writing, application, and interview skills). You can also organize fun games for kids, such as drawing, singing, dancing, and other creative educational activities.

iSpiice conducts After School Groups and Summer Camps (for age group of 4 -16) which is a great way of working with the children of Dharamsala in less formal setting. The multifarious activities offered help children in their holistic growth allowing them to learn and express themselves in a relaxed environment. The time spent with international volunteers is valued by the children.
They love when you teach them about the outside world, English, art, drama or sports. They hold a keen interest in hearing stories and facts about your home country. After-school clubs and summer camps allow children to brush up their English language skills.
Any activity or lesson you do with them will involve talking in English, providing them with the extra practice needed to compliment school studies.
Volunteers work on grass roots projects which naturally involve daily exposure to Indian customs and traditions, this is a great way to learn about Indian culture first hand through direct involvement. I chose Ispiice because of the location. I wanted access to Himilayas and enjoyed that portion of the trip. I liked all the add on excursions. The volunteer portion of the trip was lacking. I rarley got the opportunity to teach. The staff seemed to be much more concerned about volunteers being well rested than volunteering. I had many hours everyday to fill on my own. 

Volunteering for iSpiice was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. From the moment you step out of the airport everything is looked after and the staff at iSpiice make sure you are comfortable every step of the way. It was beyond rewarding to volunteer in India and give back to a community that was so kind and inviting. iSpiice changed the way I view India and my home country and taught me so many things I couldn’t have learned from a travel guide.” I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants an amazing volunteer experience and wants to enrich themselves through the Indian culture.

Amazing

Volunteering at a community center in Dharamsala was one of the most enriching experiences I have ever had. The kids were great and so enthusiastic and fun! It was truly a most gratifying experiences. Since the first day in India the adventure was amazing, the places I went, the people I met, the food, everything was just incredible. I would recommend anyone who is looking for a pleasing, satisfying as well as a real experience of volunteering abroad to go with iSPIICE. The staffs are very warm, friendly and funny and they make feel at home. The project itself was very safe and organized. The time spent with the children will definitely stay in my memories forever. Additionally, the trip to Agra and Jaipur was a blast with the other volunteers in the group. The tours were incredibly informative, and we had a great time seeing the cities. The accommodation at volunteer house was lovely and clean and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend iSPIICE to all my friends considering volunteering in future! Saying goodbye to our students was one of the hardest parts of the trip.  I can honestly give positive volunteer in India reviews and recommend iSPIICE for anyone who wants to volunteer in India.

Keep an open mind and GO! The guidance and preparation resources I received pre-departure were spot on target and the in-country volunteer coordinator was absolutely fabulous! Very passionate and dedicated. I had an absolutely amazing experience in India with the iSpiice Volunteer program. This experience truly made me a better person, taught me new things and has allowed me to see the world differently. I took part in the community development program where it was amazing to see the things you were able to teach them and see how they progressed so much over such little time. The teaching experience was a bit challenging, yet it was worth it.

I really enjoyed working with the children and families of the slum – they were very eager to learn what we were teaching. Initially I was worried about getting sick, but thankfully it wasn’t an issue with iSpiice, or in India overall.”

An enriching experience available for all ages and nationalities!

Doing for the first time a volunteer abroad as a seventeen years old French girl. I am still learning how to speak English well. Indeed it is really open to every age and different level of  English.
Because without knowing exactly how this trip would look like it could be easy to worry about so many things. For example, would communication be complicated ? Would it be hard to be around people that are much older ? or else How to be sure to behave well without knowing precisely the codes of Indian culture ? 
And at the end everything was just perfect. Indeed the language doesn’t matter so much because you always find a way to communicate with at least one person who understands English. Also all the people are very present for you if you need anything. Everyone is kind and open-minded. Local people are very friendly and interested in learning and sharing their culture. 
So if you might need to take one thing from this review is just to be confident about this program and that will just bring you so much enriching and improving skills. 
Ps : In addition to all of that, I really want to mention how enlightening  this experience is ! Spending time with Indian people during 4 weeks and being really immersed in their daily life made this trip more memorable because you truly discovered Indian culture. Another thing that is excellent is the different trips we have the possibility to do because they can teach you so much. So I really recommend you to try the trek in the Himalaya and also the visit to the Taj Mahal :)
