A German Program with International friends

December 21, 2023by: Cole Roepke - United StatesProgram: ISA Study Abroad in Berlin, Germany

I traveled to HWR Berlin right before the world was put on hold from COVID. This was my first international experience and I almost missed out on it from COVID. The program was a great 2 weeks in the class room and allowed for a great crash course in European business. We actually toured Siemens which was an excellent opportunity to see the power of German industry. Outside of the classroom, we visited places of extreme cultural relevance. This included air-raid shelters, the former border control between East & West Berlin, etc. These excursions taught so much about the history of the city as well! As much as the classroom and excursions were educational, I may have learned the most from my new friends! I still have kept up with one of the German Student helpers we had, chat often in a group chat with my Australian friends I met in Berlin and even have a penpal in India thanks to this program!

Some of the new pals enjoying some new food! Freunde mit Essen!
