What inspired you to work for Seu TESOL - Teacher Training Centre?

I love to study languages and love to teach. In my country, there is a really high demand for language education support and we are really lacking on that. I wish to be a part of helping kids in my country to connect to the world.

Why do you do what you do?

I am enjoying every moment here at our teaching training centre. I love to be with our trainee teachers, assisting them, sharing ideas and experiences, and learning the differences in the cultures.

How do you use your education and international background in your current role?

My education, experiences and international background help me a lot in this business. I do understand the barrier of languages that barricade the understanding and sometimes even the attitude. Since I have been working with foreigners in a multicultural environment for years, this really helps me in managing, arranging, and organizing our projects with the goal of achieving excellent outcomes.

What advice would you tell your pre-travel self?

Plan well, research, collect information, be open-minded and flexible, respect other people, enjoy new experiences, and step out of your comfort zone.

What makes your organization special?

We offer intensive courses from the Australian Language Training Institute’s government-accredited syllabus with the nominal study of 580 hours to 650 hours and 12 hours of teaching practice (six observation hours and six teaching practice hours), while other TESOL or TEFL schools offer only 120 hours with only six hours of practicum. Moreover, in our teaching practice session, we have a big variety of real-life ESL classrooms with a wide range of student ages (from kindergarten to university level) for our trainee teachers to observe and do their teaching practice. We also place graduates of our courses in teaching jobs upon request.

Why should someone choose Seu TESOL over competitors?

Our TESOL/TEFL certification course is well known, intensive, accredited by government here and abroad. Our staff are professional, experienced, well trained, friendly, and ready to assist. We offer more benefits for about the same prices compared to other organizations.

What hopes do you have for the future for your organization?

Since we have a very high demand for ESL teachers in local schools but also a big lack of potential ESL teachers, I hope my organization can mediate by producing, selecting, and arranging potential teachers who devote themselves to teach and nurture a global vision for local students, and help them to be able to use their language skills to connect with the world.

Are there any developments with your organization that you would like to share with us?

Yes, since the world economy is slowing down and the effect of COVID-19 is spreading around the world, people are concerned about travelling. Therefore, we have launched our new program for the online or distance TESOL Course with two-week practicum in Thailand. It is flexible and comfortable to learn the Certificate IV in TESOL whenever and wherever you like. Our combination program, in order to receive the certificate, offers about 580 hours to 650 study hours and 12 hours of sessions of in-class experience (six sessions as an observer, and six sessions as a teacher in Thai schools), once you have completed the online or distance session.

The course focuses on preparing you for the different types of lessons you will be teaching as an English teacher, such as reading, writing, and grammar. The curriculum will thoroughly prepare you for anything you could face in a foreign classroom.

Additionally, in the two weeks of practicum-teaching, our staff will provide training and supervision to help you through any difficulties you may encounter throughout the six hours of the observation and the six hours of teaching practice. It includes teaching techniques, cultural understanding, and intensive supervised in-classroom teaching experience. This provides the fastest and the most solid entry for successful teaching with the highest chance of attractive school placements. Beyond your TESOL course and the practicum, we will help you with the job placement and provide résumé or CV guidance.

How do you help support participants?

Apart from what we have mentioned before, we also offer course participants complimentary Thai language and cultural lessons.

Why is it important for people to travel abroad and experience new cultures?

It helps you open your vision, your world, your attitude, your adaptability, and develop your skills, understanding of people's thoughts and attitude, and learn how to better immerse in different cultures.

Why do you think learning a new language is important?

It’s a benefit you will have for life. You will be able to communicate with more people and in different cultures. You can expand your ability to understand the differences in cultures, thoughts, and ways of life.

What advice do you have for individuals thinking about going abroad?

Be flexible, respect locals and places, and open your mind. These are musts. Be ready to absorb the new experiences and enjoy every minute you are having.

What does meaningful travel mean to you?

In each time people travel, they are not only a taker but they also can be a potential giver. You may never know, with your devotion, that you are opening perceptions and lighting up many lives.

What hopes do you have for the future of international education?

I hope that the gap of ability to access or receive potential teaching and studying will be better. I hope that opportunities to receive education or educational resources will be equal and sufficient in every region of the world.
