What inspired you to work for Campus Oxford?
Giving young people the encouragement to travel and expand their horizons within a supported network reaps rewards beyond traditional teaching. Guiding students with their choices for Gap and Summer programs is rewarding.
The breadth of experiences available is almost limitless so each student requires personal attention to make the best choice for their situation. The flexibility and variety of work for Campus Oxford inspires me and allows me to keep learning too.

Describe a typical day at work.
Campus Oxford is a small team of experienced educational consultants. We work closely with top course providers who deliver high-quality and imaginative programs. My role includes visiting programs to assess their content to see who they would most appeal to.
I have communicated with families from around the globe providing detailed information about aspects of the course, the accommodation, travel options, and social events. We visit the students while they are studying and can be the first point of call with any concerns. It is a pleasure to get to know our families and guide them through the choices and processes required to lead to a successful enrolment and place on an exciting program in an outstanding location.
What is your favorite part of your job?
The contact with the families, students, and staff involved in creating the imaginative courses is a pleasure. The students are vibrant and keen to expand their knowledge. With expert guidance, they develop life skills to use in their learning for years to come. The connections and friendships they develop in the programs are a pleasure to see.
It's great to see the students interested and engaged in our group seminars.
What advice would you tell your pre-travel self?
Be open-minded to the opportunities which will present themselves during any period of travel. Learn from and share knowledge with your peers, it's an accessible way to learn about other nationalities, viewpoints, and experiences. Enjoy the process and problem-solving required to navigate your way through each day.
Why should someone choose your organization over competitors?
We are a small team that offers a personal service matching the ambitions of the student, the family, and the program to ensure a positive experience for all. We will provide honest advice and guidance to all of the areas which matter most to you. We partner with the strongest course providers and are involved in their program development to meet the needs of our families as if we were planning for our children.

What is your organization's mission and how do you continue to work toward it?
To promote energetic programs delivered in imaginative ways to engage students to continue and enjoy learning at every opportunity. The courses are selected for their content, their environment, and their social opportunities. We are expanding the choices and locations of the programs to help appeal to as many individuals as possible.
What do you hope participants take away from your programs?
Stronger skills for effective learning. Greater confidence for new experiences and meeting people. Increased self-respect and understanding of others.
The ability to research deeper into issues that interest them. A higher level of independence and problem-solving ability. The ambition for more.

Why is it important for people to travel abroad and experience new cultures?
The opportunity to travel and experience new cultures allows for exposure to new situations. No two days are the same so students learn to adapt and respond to their new environment increasing their level of independence daily. Social contact with people from other cultures expands understanding of other ways to live and behave.
What does meaningful travel mean to you?
A variety of experiences, environments, and situations to assess and process. These can call on each of our senses to cement the memory of a place or event. Meaningful travel is remembered and contributes to future behaviors and choices developing us as we grow older. Sharing a moment during the journey or in retrospect keeps the memory meaningful.
