What inspired you to go abroad?
Was keen to go back to Thailand, had a great time previously with Muay Thai/fitness training, and love the Thai culture.

Why did you choose TEFL Campus?
It's a highly rated course, with excellent feedback from previous students.
What was your favorite part about Thailand?
A split between climate (never cold), food (chicken skewers) and culture.
What made your experience abroad unique?
The course itself. It was a different experience to anything I have previously done, since I came fresh out of the office.
How did local staff support you throughout your program?
Eric and Simon provided excellent support throughout the programs. Always friendly, approachable, and available.

Describe a typical day in the life of your program.
A typical day included the gym, lecture, break, lecture, break, observed teaching practice, feedback, and then sleep.
What did you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoyed the gym, Muay Thai, unit 27, and exploring Phuket Town.
What was your accommodation like? What did you like best about it?
Excellent. The location was very convenient to the best parts of Phuket Town.
What is one thing every participant should know before participating in your program?
You will enjoy it! Prepare to be challenged, and you will be better for giving it a go.
Now that you're home, how has your program abroad impacted your life?
I have returned to Thailand (after two months back home) to give English teaching a go full time.
Would you recommend TEFL Campus to others? Why?
Absolutely. I got a lot out of the course relating to teaching in general, as well as grammar and phonology. I had the opportunity to teach multiple times and received appropriate feedback to improve. The course was professionally run.
Why did you feel it was beneficial to get your TEFL certificate abroad?
I would say it was beneficial studying a TEFL abroad. Trainees have the opportunity to conduct lessons with students within their own country. Additionally, the course provides content and insights specifically related to teaching (and living) abroad.

What surprised you most about Thailand?
The traffic (and the abundance of motorcycles) can be pretty hectic at times.
How difficult was it to communicate with locals?
It’s not at all in Phuket. The vast majority of locals speak basic English. Kob kun cap.
Where do you hope to teach abroad?
I aim to teach in Phuket, and would also be open to teaching in other areas of Thailand and south-east Asia.
What do you feel the biggest benefit of teaching abroad is, and why do you think TEFL certifications are important?
Immersing yourself in a different culture is a major benefit. Life is about experiences (rather than material possessions). TEFL certification is important as teaching English within a foreign land is somewhat different to lecturing (more about encouraging students to speak, rather than listen).
