The desire to serve others fuels my passion. As a volunteer and by working with other volunteers, I’ve seen firsthand the difference we make in communities. This inspires me to keep giving back and making a lasting impact.

A typical day at a volunteer agency in Nairobi is dynamic and inspiring. It begins with a team meeting, where we set goals and align our mission. Why do you do what you do?

I do what I do because I am deeply motivated by the impact of service on individuals and communities. My passion for helping others drives me to work with volunteer, where I can facilitate meaningful connections and contribute to positive change. Witnessing the transformation that dedicated volunteers bring to those in need inspires me daily and reaffirms my commitment to this important work.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of the job is seeing the tangible impact of our work in the community. Whether it's witnessing a volunteer's positive influence on a local project or observing the improvements in the lives of those we serve, these moments of transformation and connection are incredibly rewarding and fulfilling.

How do you use your education and international background in your current role?

In my current role, I leverage my education and international background to enhance volunteer placements and community programs. My educational background in Educational Psychology helps me understand and address the diverse needs of both volunteers and community members. Additionally, my international experience allows me to navigate cultural nuances effectively, ensuring that our programs are inclusive and impactful across different contexts. This combination of skills and perspectives enables me to create meaningful, tailored experiences for all involved.

What challenges do you often face, and how do you overcome them?

In my role, I often face challenges such as coordinating diverse volunteer teams, navigating cultural differences, and managing limited resources. To overcome these:
