Derek Capo is originally from Miami, Florida USA. He received his Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at Florida International University. Previously, Derek worked at Smith Barney and at Everest Capital, a $3 billion multi-strategy hedge fund, as a stock and bond analyst. He also owns and operates his own investment management corporation, Capo Capital Management. Derek is fluent in English, Spanish, and conversational Mandarin. He has resided in Beijing, China for the past three years and works as Next Step China’s Chief Executive Officer. He likes to teach participants how to successfully bargain in China – it’s his specialty.
