Mente Argentina provides a Spanish program for students who want to learn Spanish and get academic credit, as well as for those students who just want to learn Spanish for fun in a university environment in Buenos Aires. Our program can accommodate students with all Spanish levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

Mente Argentina's University Spanish Program is held at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, UBA, which is a public university located in a bustling area of downtown Buenos Aires near the Obelisk and the National Congress.

UBA is the largest and most well known university in Argentina. It is also one of the most prestigious and respected educational institutions in all of Latin America. The Foreign Language Department of UBA offers Spanish programs for foreign students, as well as other foreign language programs for Argentine students. Every year, more than 20,000 students study foreign languages there.

Mente Argentina's University Spanish Program at UBA also allows for easy credit transmission to your home university due to UBA's respected reputation. Most students get 3-4 semester units for each four week Spanish course completed.

If you are in college and would like to get academic credit at your home institution, you will have to pass all the Spanish courses with at least a 'C' grade or above in order to apply for credit for your courses. Because university standards and policies vary, please talk to your advisor or study abroad coordinator and arrange this before you arrive. Official transcripts are issued by the Universidad de Buenos Aires Spanish Language Department.

Spanish classes at the Universidad de Buenos Aires are held every day from Monday to Friday, usually at 1:00 pm. These classes are generally taught by two teachers and cover grammar, writing assignments, reading, comprehension and oral communication.

You will also have additional, cultural activities during the week and on weekends, which are included in the program, and that will help you practice your Spanish while you get to know the city in an exciting way.

Highlights

* Academic Credits:
Normally, those students who attend a 4 week course in Argentina through Mente Argentina and UBA earn between 3-4 academic credits, although the total credits will depend on the number of classes you wish to attend. At the end of the program, the student will receive a transcript directly from the University of Buenos Aires.

* Tuition:
Includes all tuition at the host university (No hidden fees). All classes are taught by faculty from the host university.

* MA Program Coordinators:
Mente Argentina Program Coordinators are available 24 hours a day to assist students with all aspects of their study abroad experience, even before you actually get here!

* Weekly Excursions / Activities included at no extra charge!
Please see the Mente Argentina website for a complete list of excursions. Ground transportation and entrance fees are included on all excursions. Lunch is also included on our 1 day long activities.

* First Class Accommodations:
Mente Argentina is the only study abroad organization that provides first class accommodations in the most exclusive neighborhoods of Buenos Aires: Palermo, Belgrano, Barrio Norte, Recoleta. Everything is included, even maid service once a week! (Shared Apartment Accommodation)

* Airport Pick Up and Drop Off:
Your program coordinator will be waiting for you at the airport to brief you about the program and take you to your new home in Buenos Aires.
