  • Description

Established in 1973, Lorenzo de' Medici is one of the largest and leading international schools, with centers in Florence, Rome and Tuscania. LdM Certificate Programs offer students the opportunity to develop their potential individual creativity, artistic talent and technical and professional skills in Design, Restoration and Fine Arts.

With a wide variety of courses structured over two semesters, students will encounter an intensive study in various aspects of Jewelry: historical, cultural, product design and production. Through small theoretical and practical classes (max. 12 students) taught by expert teachers and recognized professionals, students will acquire the knowledge base of gemology, the history of jewelry and the rendering of the design project. In our fully equipped laboratories, students immediately start creating their first pieces of jewelry in silver. With the teacher's assistance, students will learn the various basic techniques which will allow them to produce more and more complex pieces of jewelry. All courses (except Italian language) are conducted in English.

  • Lorenzo de' Medici's Mission Statement

Lorenzo de' Medici is committed to helping students realize their own potential, providing a quality education that will enable them to interact successfully with the community worldwide. The School aims to excite and enable students to experience a first class educational and social environment which enlarges their minds, stimulates their talent, and emphasizes the importance of values and the pursuit of knowledge. We also seek to develop real, multi-disciplinary projects in our classes that involve as many of our departments as possible. In this way, we prepare our students to face the actual challenges of their respective fields. Students obtain truly relevant work-related experience by collaborating with colleagues both inside and outside of their specific areas of interest. Then, the results of this collaboration are presented externally for public appreciation and expert evaluation.
