Surrounded by mountains, snow covered volcanoes and valleys, Quito is the oldest South American capital and retains much of its colonial aspect. Located 2,800M above sea level about 15 miles south of the equator, Quito boasts a lovely spring like climate year round.

Quito retains a small city atmosphere, as everything is still within walking distance.

Our school in Quito, is set in the residential area of El Batan in a beautiful, colonial-style building just a short walk from the new ECOVIA bus line ("Green" buses powered by natural gas) bus stop, ideal for getting around the city.

You have the following course options:
* 4 lessons daily: (20 group lessons per week)
* 4 lessons daily: (20 private lessons per week)
* 6 lessons daily: (30 private lessons per week)
* 7 lessons daily: (20 group lessons + Cultural program) Cultural program includes 3 hours of activities per day

- A "lesson" usually lasts approx. 50 minutes

After class and weekend activities:
Enjoy social and cultural outings during the week with other students from the school.

Cultural Immersion Program: (20 lessons per week + 3 hours of extra activities with an individual teacher in the afternoon)

Each afternoon students will have different activities such as visits to interesting sites in Quito, museums, monuments (Mitad del Mundo, monument of the middle of the world) and one night they will visit either the folkloric ballet, dance class or a cooking class.

If the Cultural Program student has a particular professional or personal interest (i.e.. student is a doctor or health care professional) it is possible to request that a teacher take them to visit a hospital or doctor's office. Activa students could have may have the opportunity to meet briefly with a professional in their specific area (i.e.. an Ecuadorian doctor). This option can be applied to other professions/interests, upon request and availability. A teacher will accompany the student on any such excursion.

For the Cultural program, entrance fees to museums, galleries or public transportation costs are included in the price. Also the cost of private transportation is included, if a destination is not accessible by public transit and a taxi is required.
