The city's history revolves around the Western European immigrants whose descendants have preserved their influences since the 19th century through architecture, art, and style. Buenos Aires offers a variety of educational opportunities for ISA study abroad students. The University of Belgrano was the first private university in Argentina to promote and support study abroad. The University of El Salvador (USAL) was one of the first private Argentine univerisites to offer humanities courses, and the USAL now has 18,000 students among 7 campuses with numerous undergraduate and graduate programs.
The ISA office in Buenos Aires is located just a few blocks from the UB and is a quick bus ride from the USAL in the Belgrano neighborhood of Buenos Aires. The friendly resident staff provide support during the enrollment process at the host university and assist with housing, travel advice and Spanish language tutoring.
