Summer Program: 9 credits
Spend your summer at the University of Cambridge in England and you'll find yourself immersed into a diverse campus, local lifestyles, and a culture of impeccable beauty. Some courses are concentrated into 4 weeks, while others run throughout the 8 weeks. You can expect to earn 9 semester hours of credit for the 8-week program. You will be able to choose from a wide range of courses including world literature, history, philosophy, economics, film, art history, behavioral ecology, and much more. All courses are taught by British faculty and are 'Cambridge' in style, content, and standard.
Students will have the unique opportunity to experience the Cambridge 'supervision' system, in which an individual, or small group of students, works directly with a faculty member in weekly meetings, completing a series of research-based papers in their major subject area. This option would replace one course. It is both challenging and rewarding from an academic standpoint.
Summer Program: 9 credits
GPA Requirements: 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
Applicants must submit a clean, unmarked copy of a graded academic writing sample in the major subject with the application.
The University of Cambridge is one of the world's oldest and most renowned universities. Its reputation for outstanding academic achievement reflects the intellectual achievement of its students as well as the top-notch research carried out by its extraordinary faculty and staff.
The University consists of 31 Colleges. Each College is an independent institution and each appoints its own staff, in accordance with University guidelines. Degrees, however, are awarded by the University. A College is the place where students live, eat and socialize and is also where the small group teaching sessions or 'supervisions' take place. The supervision system is one of the most unique hallmarks of a Cambridge education.
The Arcadia program at the University of Cambridge is located at King's and Pembroke Colleges.
