Choosing an International Internship

thames**Still recruiting for fall internship placements!**

World Endeavors has professional internships in nine countries around the world. With so many choices, we've noticed that interns sometimes have a hard time narrowing down the field. Here are a few guidelines that will help steer you towards the perfect internship.

  • Ask yourself what your priority is - Language practice? Work experience? Exploring a new corner of the world? World Endeavors has a variety of internships to match your priorities.
  • Open yourself up to new possibilities - Your dream job may be somewhere you haven't even considered yet. Talking with a World Endeavors advisor can help you explore new options. Available Internships
  • Choose a competitive, immersive program - World Endeavors has a track record of finding challenging internships that would otherwise be unavailable. WE interns are also given the tools for an immersive, culturally-informed internship experience. But don't take our word for it. Read a World Endeavors intern's blog
  • Apply early - You don't want to leave until February or maybe June, so when is the best time to start the process? Right now. Some countries will require visas to travel and this takes time. Also, the more you plan ahead, the better your chances of getting the job you want. How to apply

Testimonials

"If there is any part of you that wants to do this, just do it. The experience of being out of your comfort zone will make you stronger." Ashley, Volunteer in Ecuador

"This was my first experience abroad and it has reinforced that I love traveling and meeting new people from different backgrounds and cultures. My time in Costa Rica and my work at the school will give me the confidence to continue traveling to new places." Pamela, Environmental Conservation in Costa Rica

"The benefits never end. I loved my time spent in Thailand. It was a more unique experience than most people I know who studied abroad. I got to learn a new language and go to a University with students from all over the world." Julie, Study Abroad in Thailand

"I wanted to thank you for giving me the chance to work with the girls at the center. My experience in Ecuador really pushed me to become a much stronger person in both spirit and mind. And I must say that the girls at the center were truly incredible! Their hope, courage, resilience, and fortitude were inspiring, and I hold to the fact that they taught me more than I could have ever hoped to teach them!"
