Summer is a great time to expand your horizons by traveling abroad and immersing yourself in a new culture. World Endeavors offers over 80 different programs in 21 countries. So to help you choose, the World Endeavors' staff has picked some of their favorite programs to share with you.
We're very excited about our newest volunteer program- Volunteer in Guatemala! Our volunteers now have the chance to travel to one of the most beautiful countries in Latin America, as well as experience native culture and traditions. Participants can help in a number of different ways, including teaching English and other subjects, volunteering in an orphanage, providing health services and education, or unique projects like Indigenous Women's Assistance. We are especially in need of volunteers with Spanish speaking abilities, although of course there are ways for everyone to make a difference. Volunteers stay with host families and receive a personal introduction into Guatemalan daily life. Come with us to volunteer in Guatemala and you'll certainly never want to leave.
Our programs in Costa Rica are a perennial favorite. Experience Costa Rica in a meaningful way while contributing to its future. Volunteer and study Spanish in a small town in central Costa Rica. Work with orphans, teach in a rural school, help with an environmental conservation or wildlife project. In your spare time, visit the beach, climb a volcano, explore the jungle, or enjoy an authentic Costa Rican meal with your host family.
Volunteering in the "Land of the Smiling People" (Thailand) is one of the most unique options we have. The friendliness of the Thai people is rivaled only by their country's stunning landscape of sandy beaches and misty mountains. Better yet, you're not just a tourist with World Endeavors. By volunteering, staying with a host family, and taking languages classes, you can become a part of this exciting culture.
We chose to feature this program because of the incredible quality and variety of the internship placements. Our Intern in England program provides incredible prospects to the young person who wants to get a little more experience in an exciting location, or to the mid-career professional who wants to try something new. Best of all, you'll be located in London, the exciting city that's the heart of British life and culture. We offer placements in marketing, journalism, film and TV, the arts, event management, and many, many more. We can even arrange specialized placements, so if you've got an idea for an internship we haven't done before- just ask! Join us for an internship in London this summer and change your world.
We think Valencia, ideally perched on Spain's Mediterranean coast, is the perfect place to get international work experience no matter your field. The city is booming in culture, nightlife, history, architecture and real Spanish sabor (flavor). World Endeavors coordinates professional internships in a variety of fields, any time of year. Build your resume while taking in the beauty of the Mediterranean beaches, eating authentic paella, and perfecting your Spanish in this vibrant cosmopolitan city.
The magnificent city of Sydney is a diverse, multicultural metropolis located between the idyllic sandy beaches and Australia's Blue Mountains. An important financial and cultural center, Sydney is home a vast number of businesses, and it happens to be a perfect place for an internship. We offer a variety of internships in business, finance, media, non-profit organizations, tourism, engineering and a number of other fields. Go down under with World Endeavors and have the time of your life in Sydney, Australia.
We love this program because of the incredible location, the quality of the teaching and the flexible dates. Our summer study abroad program in France is located in the city of Angers, in the region of Anjou in northwestern France. This city is famous for its flowers, stately châteaux, and of course for the quality of life. The French spoken by the locals is considered to be incredibly 'pure' making it an excellent place to learn the language, especially when coupled with our intensive summer session. Our program in France is an excellent chance to improve your language skills while enjoying all the pleasures of the authentic French lifestyle!
Spain has many faces; the culture and dialect of the regions are as varied as its people. And with World Endeavors, you have the option of studying in the tropical southern city of Seville, home of flamenco, or in Valladolid in Spain's rustic northern interior. We couldn't decide which city we liked best, so we'll leave that up to you. Both programs offer an incredible way to study the Spanish language and culture. Join us this summer in Spain.
Our program in China is designed for students of all levels: advanced, intermediate and beginning Mandarin Chinese students. Even if you've never taken a class in Chinese before, you'll receive individualized attention in both spoken and written Chinese and enjoy the comforts of a modern university campus. The program takes place in Yantai, a safe and accessible city along the northwest coast of China. We offer a fun, immersive and affordable summer language program for anyone interested in learning this ancient and important language.
