I spent a month in Bolgatanga (Ghana) with Future 4 Afrika in a Education program. I went to a school and gave classes to the children in the morning and we did other different activities in the afternoon, like going to orphanages to spend time and play with the kids. It was certainly the best experience for my life and I recommend it to everybody! It made me change my way of seeing life. All the people working in this NGO are angels and the took care of us like we were family. I can’t wait to come back!!!

I spent almost four weeks at Future4Africa and truly enjoyed my time there. During this period, I gained many new experiences and had the opportunity to work both in the primary school and in the community with the children in the afternoons. The time with them was incredibly rewarding and brought me a lot of joy. A special thanks goes to Joshua and Samuel, who put so much effort into making my stay unforgettable. They not only organized everything perfectly but also took me on trips to show me the country, its culture, and the beautiful nature. This gave me a very authentic insight and made my stay even more valuable. I can highly recommend Future4Africa to anyone who would like to get to know a new culture, work with children, and at the same time make a positive impact.

J'ai vécu ce dernier mois la plus belle expérience de ma vie. Nous avons été entourées de personnes bienveillantes dans chacune de nos missions, qui nous ont accompagnées de façon à vivre notre expérience de la façon la plus impactante et bénéfique possible. Les missions proposées étaient très intéressantes, nous avons la liberté de proposer des activités & autres occupations, nous étions très libres dans nos propositions ! À côté de cela, l'association se souciait chaque jour de notre humeur, notre journée et notre ressenti, et elle a tenu un rôle accompagnateur réellement présent. Nous avons pu faire des rencontres incroyables, et passer des moments d'échange que nous ne pourrons oublier. Nous avons aussi eu la chance de découvrir de nombreux endroits du Ghana, et d'en apprendre plus sur les cultures locales. Je n'ai qu'une hâte, c'est de revenir, pour continuer de travailler avec eux sur les nombreux projets qu'ils ont pour l'avenir, pour toutes ces personnes qu'ils aident au quotidien ! We were surrounded by caring people on each of our missions, who helped us to live our experience in the most impactful and beneficial way possible. The missions proposed were very interesting, we had the freedom to propose activities & other occupations, we were very free in our proposals! On top of that, the association was very attentive to our mood, our day and how we felt, and played a really supportive role. We were able to meet some incredible people, and spend some unforgettable moments of exchange. We also had the chance to discover many parts of Ghana, and learn more about the local cultures. I can't wait to come back and continue working with them on the many projects they have for the future, for all the people they help on a daily basis! Thank you future for africa 🙏🏼

My experience in Ghana was extremely positive and enriching. I carried out several missions related to education, water supply, and the construction of sustainable, affordable houses adapted to the hot climate. The association provided excellent support and comfortable living conditions, making my integration easy. The local community welcomed me warmly and showed great appreciation for my work. This experience allowed me to discover a new culture, develop new skills, and contribute to meaningful projects. I am very happy to have supported this association and its valuable work for local communities.

My experience as a School Teaching Assistant with Future For Africa has been a valuable and rewarding opportunity to develop my teaching, communication, and classroom management skills. I enjoyed supporting teachers, assisting learners with their educational activities, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. This experience has strengthened my patience, teamwork, and commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals. I am grateful for the opportunity and the knowledge gained.

Frankadua, Ghana, holds a special place in my heart. Not only was I fully immersed in Ghanaian culture, I also made true and lasting friends. The staff at IVHQ welcomed me from the moment I got out of the van, and they go out of their way to ensure safety and comfort. Every meal is homemade with care and thought. The wound outreach is incredible. We may not be completely changing a patient's life, but rather we learn and realize that we are part of something much bigger: a global effort to help treat those with severe wounds. The volunteers you meet are inspiring. Everyone has the same mindset of helping others, and we all got along swimmingly. I cannot wait to return and see the kids grow and visit with friends again.

From the first moment I opened the IVHQ website, I was impressed with how easy the site was to navigate. Everything was well organized and the online active agent was so pleasant. IVHQ helped me throughout the entire process by answering all my questions, providing lists of things to read and information on how to prepare for my volunteer trip. I was set up with a program manager who was so helpful and continued to be in contact with me from the start to the end of my experience. IVHQ was extremely thorough and ensured I had everything I needed to travel safely from my visa documents to my vaccinations. I felt very well prepared and was able to relax and enjoy the trip. I would HIGHLY recommend IVHQ and I hope to volunteer again woth that organization.

Everything was very smooth and straight forward. They gave me all of the information I needed for my visa and all the contact information I would need once I arrived. Everything they said would happen, happened just as they said. Everyone was very welcoming, from the people who ran it to the village I was in. The location of service was great to assist. The team who took care of us in the house was very nice. They always checked in with is and even adjusted food as people requested. They all helped and control everything they could and supported us if there was anything they couldnt. It was an overall great experience and I cannot wait to do it again!

My time here was a rewarding experience that allowed me to support both teachers and students in a practical way. I assisted in classroom activities, helped students understand lessons, and provided one-on-one support to those who needed extra attention. This role strengthened my patience, communication skills, and ability to work with children from different learning backgrounds. I also helped prepare learning materials and supported classroom management, which made lessons run more smoothly. Seeing students improve in confidence and participation was the most fulfilling part of the experience. Overall, the role helped me grow personally and professionally, while contributing positively to the learning environment and student progress.

Last summer, volunteering with Future for Africa was a meaningful experience for me. I worked closely with community members, students, and local leaders right here in Sogakope, learning about their culture while sharing my own ideas. We organized small learning sessions, community conversations, and cultural activities that brought us together. I supported students with basic learning support and mentorship, and it was inspiring to see their confidence grow. The experience also helped me understand the real needs of the community and the importance of listening first. Beyond the activities, I built friendships and learned new ways of working respectfully across cultures. I believe the work we did helped strengthen community participation and encouraged young people to stay motivated in school. Overall, the summer shaped my passion for service and showed me how simple actions can create positive change in the communities we serve together.

Definitely join!! Walk into the program with the least amount of expectations and willingness to adapt to anything and you will be just fine. I had no idea how easy it would be to adapt to the heat as soon as I decided that it’s okay to be a bit dirty and sweaty. Everything else about the program became much easier to adapt to once I developed an open mindset as well.

I spent three weeks volunteering as a Teaching Assistant at Yikene Primary School, and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. During this time, I worked closely with teachers to support classroom activities and helped students with their lessons, reading, and general learning needs. The experience allowed me to connect deeply with the students and understand the realities of education at the community level. Despite limited resources, the children were eager to learn, curious, and incredibly welcoming. Being part of their daily school routine and seeing their confidence grow was truly fulfilling. This project not only strengthened my teaching and communication skills but also gave me a new perspective on the impact of education and community-based support. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute, even in a small way, and I will always carry the lessons and memories from Bolgatanga with me.

The local team is extremely kind and supportive, and are always looking out for your best interests. The experiences I had during this volunteer trip were incredible, and the community was amazing. I did the malaria program, and the organization was very well done. The local team made sure everything was organized each day and we had everything we needed. I definitely recommend volunteering through IVHQ if you have the opportunity to. I have volunteered three times with them and each time is seamless and very positive!

I had the pleasure of spending a short time in Kumasi, sight seeing, volunteering at a local hospital, and spending time forming relationships with my host family and others. I feel that OGVO provides an excellent opportunity for anyone who may want to be immersed in the Ghanaian culture, and experience life as the Ghanaians do. I was both challenged and blessed throughout my short-duration there and would highly recommend this organization for anyone wanting to volunteer in Ghana and experience and learn of the culture. I also have to give honor to the program Director Frank Odoi who is exceptional. His assistance and communication with his volunteers ensuring their safety, comfort, and great experience during their stay spoke volumes. I am beyond grateful for the time spent, and even more so for the people I've gotten to meet at my host home, as well as the wonderful nurses I've connected with at my project site. If you're looking to affordibly tour or volunteer in Ghana, OGVO is the way to go!

I have volunteered with IVHQ once before and I really enjoyed everything about it, so I decided to volunteer with them again. I was very thankful for the quick and helpful response I got for every question I asked my IVHQ Program Manager! Everyone was amazing, kind and always there to help with anything we needed! I never once felt like I couldn't ask for anything! I absolutely loved the food the two cooks prepared for us! Being a vegetarian, I wasn't sure whether that would be a problem but the cooks instantly adapted and always made a vegetarian version for me! For that I am very thankful! The food in general was also very good and they even prepared us some local meals, which was amazing! I loved so many moments, as they were all unique and beautiful! For me, just being around the kids and locals and making new friends there must be my favorite moments. The volunteering trip reminded me about the things that are truly important in life and that there is still so much in the world that is unfair. However, it also showed me, that no matter how small the impact is that one makes to make the world a better place, it is always worth it! It is a very special experience and the memories you make will stay with you for a lifetime.
