I had the privilege of completing the 10-hour TEFL Practicum course with Michelle Benson and it was truly incredible. Michelle is an outstanding, knowledgeable and passionate teacher. Over the 2 days, she made every session engaging, interactive and very practical. She has a wonderful way of breaking things down into simple and understandable concepts. I learned so much, both theoretically and practically, about how to plan and deliver engaging and effective English lessons online. I now feel fully confident and open-minded to start my journey as an online English teacher. Thank you Michelle for such an inspiring and impactful course. I highly recommend her to anyone taking the TEFL course.

I took this course with Michelle Benson and it was absolutely worth waking up way before the sun. I’m currently redoing my TEFL certification as it’s been several years since I’ve taught and the first time around I did it with an organization that didn’t offer this “in-person” option. I’m really glad that I took this as even though I have teaching experience, getting to actually practice creating a lesson designed for learners that were different from the ones I taught, and then getting feedback as well, was extremely helpful in rebuilding my confidence. Although a lot of that is due to Michelle’s instruction as not only is she knowledgeable, but she clearly loves what she’s doing and because that comes through it made it much more comfortable to actually engage and ask questions when we needed to. Honestly if she did another “in person” class on a different subject I’d once again wake up at 3am just to take it.

I found this teaching course particularly useful after completing my level 5 level English teaching diploma. The course content and administration were of high quality. Similarly, the teaching methods taught by Michelle Benson, really helped me to join the dots by putting theory into practice. Having just had a baby, this course has given me the boost I needed to pivot to a new career more confidently.

This course was very enjoyable and beneficial. Michelle Benson is an excellent tutor who immediately puts you at ease. She is full of knowledge and experience and she shared lots of tips and advice with us in her fun and friendly sessions. A shout out to the lovely ladies in the group too, who also made this a great weekend. I feel very fortunate to have spent some time with them.

The teaching practicum with Michelle Benson was great. The material was succinct and loaded with various ways to teach English as someone who is not new to teaching, but new to teaching a language. Michelle made the experience fun as well as informative. I also appreciate her encouraging words since I was actually quite nervous at the start.

Great experience completing the 10-hour Virtual TEFL course. The tutor, Michelle Benson, absolutely made the course. She has such positive energy, is incredibly encouraging, and explains everything very clearly. The lessons are well structured and especially helpful for people who have never taught before. One thing worth noting is that the "10-hour" course actually consists of 7 hours of live teaching (2 × 3.5-hour sessions). The remaining 3 hours are allocated to preparing and completing the homework. My advice would be to leave at least a day's gap between the sessions if possible. For people who work full-time, it can be quite difficult to find enough time to prepare properly for the following day's lesson.

It was a fantastic experience. Michelle Benson made teaching methodologies become real life practical experience, making the classroom a relaxed and fun filled experience for both teachers and learners. I am glad I took the chance.

I had a lovely experience with my tutor Michelle Benson! The structure of the course is clear; it's great for anyone who wants a more hands-on TEFL experience. I got to apply some of the methods I've been learning in the 180-hour TEFL course in a real classroom setting. Ms. Benson was an absolute delight: she was very joyful, encouraging, and knowledgeable. I especially liked the tense identification method she taught us. I would advise all TEFL learners to take this course so as to get an opportunity to apply the theories learned in the 120/180/300-hour course!

The 10-hour practical course was awesome! Not a single minute of the entire course was boring. Michelle was patient and meticulous, explaining in detail what it takes to plan and deliver an engaging and interactive lesson. Her feedback was great. At first I was unsure how it would work through Skype, but it ended up going way beyond what I expected. I have just finished the 180 hour Level 5 course. I found the material really good and it was straightforward enough to work through. The weekly Zoom meetings were really useful whenever I was stuck and needed extra support with a few of the topics. Whether you are coming from a teaching background or have never taught English before, I would definitely recommend doing one of the TEFL Ireland courses. My next step is starting the 30 hour teaching online course so I feel more confident and ready for teaching online.

I completed the TEFL Institute 30-hour Teaching IELTS Preparation course and I would wholeheartedly recommend it. Everything in the online module is straightforward to work through, and it covers far more than the essentials for teaching an IELTS Preparation class, since it also offers plenty of useful links and suggestions for extra reading if you want to build on what you learn. The fact that it is online was a real plus for me, because I could plan my own timetable and move through the material at whatever speed suited me.

I am updating this review now that I have completed the course. It is a really solid program with loads of content and helpful resources. I have not started teaching yet, but everything included in the 180 hour course has left me feeling properly prepared, from the activities and games to guidance on classroom management and different teaching styles and methods, and so on. There are weekly zoom classes you can attend, although there is no in-person component to the course I bought when it comes to the teaching part itself. Everyone at the TEFL Institute was extremely friendly, supportive, and fast to reply. I used the chat on their website and Tracy answered all of my questions. They also offer the option of a phone call with an advisor, and I spoke with Sórcha O' Connell. She was a huge help in working out which course made the most sense for my situation, since I was looking for something that would qualify me to work abroad in Europe.

I completed the 180 hour course and I would absolutely recommend it. Everything was organised in a way that made sense, it was straightforward to work through, and it still went into plenty of detail. Any time I had a question the TEFL team was ready to help out. Emma in particular was fantastic and answered everything I needed. It gives you solid training, useful information, and the skills you need to teach English as a foreign language. With that level of support from the staff, I would happily recommend the TEFL institute to anyone thinking about teaching English abroad.

I have just finished the 30 hour Teaching Online course and it has been a really solid, detailed introduction. There was so much useful information, and plenty to think about afterwards too. I especially liked the podcasts, the reflection tasks, and being pointed towards other resources, it all made the course genuinely enjoyable. Thanks TEFL Institute!

I have completed two TEFL Institute courses, the TEFL Certificate and the IELTS Preparation course, and I found both of them really engaging and put together to a very high standard. As an ESL teacher, I have gotten a lot of practical use out of what I learned, and I would absolutely recommend the Institute to anyone wanting to earn a teaching qualification, since they let you move through the material at your own speed and fit it around whatever timeframe works best for you.
