Best Semester Ever

Seriously, these months were the best of my life so far. Melbourne is an amazing city, and I think a lot of people don't consider it as much as other Australian places, but for me I feel like it had everything I could've wanted. There's so much art and good food, and there's always something to do. I attended the University of Melbourne, and the courses that I took were on the easy side, largely because I was doing what would count towards Gen Ed at my home university. The people in Australia are so friendly and lovely, and I felt very safe there, even in the middle of the CBD. I can't wait to go back someday. Make the most of your time there, or anywhere abroad!

A Guide to Studying Abroad in Melbourne

Subjects & Courses

Melbourne is home to several accredited institutions, including, but not limited to, the University of Melbourne, Monash University, RMIT University, Victoria University, and La Trobe University. Needless to say, students can choose from just about any subject and major of study in Melbourne, and select from some of the world’s top ranked universities.

Courses are taught in English and are comparable to classes in many Western countries. Most universities operate on a two semester schedule, each with 12 teaching weeks, from early March to early May, and late July to late October. Most study abroad programs in Melbourne are offered for a semester or a full year, with options for summer study abroad as well.

Whether students take business classes at the University of Melbourne, computer science at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), or study history and culture at Monash University, Melbourne has a program for everyone.
