A Life-changing experience
February 11, 2026Poemana Rop - FranceAs a 24 years old woman, I suddenly decided to become an Au Pair, and LoPair definitely made the whole process so easy, so fast and so smooth. After 1-2months, I was already in China. As I was actively learning Chinese and had planned to later work in China, I kinda had an idea of what I was getting myself into with the change of culture and language. But honestly, to experience it first hand is a complete different thing. It’s an amazing country full of opportunities and depth to those who are willing to get out of their comfort zone and go explore. As for the experience with the family, after having met other au pairs, all I can say is that the experience can differ drastically. I personally was looking after 2 teenagers aged 11 and 13, so it definitely was emotionally challenging, but as I grew closer with them, I also grew as a person. And this has no price. I would do it all over again. I also got terribly sick at the beginning of the trip and also had to see a dentist for immediate intervention. And honestly navigating all these new experiences throughout all those months with the support of the Lopair team and the family has been extremely reassuring, and the health insurance was also really helpful. LoPair also organized multiple events where I got to meet other aupairs and got to experience the Chinese culture - I really had a lot of fun! Finally, for those not knowing a word of Chinese or those wanting to improve their Chinese skills, the program comes with Chinese classes, either 1-on-1 or in a class with other students. It personally helped me improve my communication skills, and I know some aupairs who barely knew any word, and improved so fast to the point where they were comfortable walking around China and having simple conversations. Overall, I’d like to once again give my sincere gratitude to the Lopair team for all those memories- you made the experience easy, warm and fun- , and I’d 100% recommend this agency to whoever is considering being an AuPair in China.
great experience
February 11, 2026Tumelo Mzenda - South AfricaProvider: Teach Away TEFL
Program: TEFL Certification & Job Placement Opportunities Online
This TEFL course was an exceptional foundation for teaching English. The curriculum expertly balanced essential theory, like lesson planning and grammar instruction—with abundant practical application. The modules on classroom management and student engagement were particularly valuable, offering realistic strategies I used immediately during my teaching practice. The tutor feedback was constructive and detailed, turning assignments into genuine learning opportunities. While demanding, the course’s rigor ensured I finished feeling truly prepared, confident, and certified to step into any classroom worldwide. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a comprehensive, professional, and transformative entry into EFL teaching.
Excellent Virtual Teaching Practicum!
February 11, 2026Robin Anglemyer - United StatesProvider: Premier TEFL
Michelle Benson was my teacher for the virtual teaching practicum. Michelle was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and highly engaging. She reviewed all course related material thoroughly, as well as answered many other general teaching related questions from the participants. I felt prepared to plan and present my portion of the virtual lesson when the time came to do so. Her feedback was very helpful and follow up was immediate. I would not hesitate to refer a student to her course and would welcome the chance to take another course with her in the future!
Lifelong Networks and Connections
February 11, 2026Miri Künzler - United StatesProvider: Cow House Studios
My decision to take a gap year came later in my high school career, and while my time spent at Cow House Studios was one semester, it has encompassed everything I wanted and needed within that decision. The culmination of new material, incredibly expansive resources, and self guided practices truly nurtured my soul as an artist. I felt so safe and my practice was uplifted and encouraged by everyone there. Some of my most treasured memories come from simply talking about what it means to be an artist with friends and especially all of my mentors: Rosie, Frank, Roísín, Dee, Sinead, and even Michael (Rosie's dad) whenever he would pop into the studio! :) This community is so connected, and truly feels like family. The depth of history and transformation the space has gone through is so inspiring, and there is so much care within every inch. The library, my room with my roommate who is now like my sister, and the kitchen having long chats with Dee, all feel like a home that will never leave my heart. Every moment I spent in Teach Muc (the clay studio), the darkroom, my studio, and even writing and reading by the fire, nourished my creativity and absolutely taught me how to take care of myself as an artist, and have patience with my practice. Above all else, the connection with the land and environment I was able to foster changed my life. I learned how to explore and play again, and the long walks I took exploring the fields, creeks, forests, and mountains solitary and with others absolutely reawakened my inner child. Additionally, the visits to other spaces for artists such as the Red Barn Residency, Workhouse Union, and Blackbird Culture Lab enriched my perspective of correlations between regenerative agriculture, environmental activism, and the arts. The interactions with curators and a wide range of exhibitions were eye opening and have absolutely provided me with a network of artists, activists, and community organizers in which I am so grateful to Rosie and Frank for. It was a very big deal and investment for my family to send me to Cow House Studios, and words cannot express the gratitude I feel for my time spent there. To say it was life changing would be an understatement; my connection with that space and all of the other communities I was introduced to feel lifelong. I am also incredibly grateful that Cow House offers several scholarships given that it is a fairly small family run business. (Which is another reason why you should support them!) I believe everyone should get the opportunity to experience the freedom, support, and eye opening experiences my time spent there provided me.

Fantastic hands-on projects with great people
February 11, 2026Smai Fullerton - United StatesProvider: Community & Humanitarian Engineering
Program: Volunteer with Engineering Without Borders Argentina
I volunteered with ISF in 2025 and worked on a community center outside of Quilmes. The volunteers and hosts were fantastic, welcoming, and good vibes, and you can tell that building strong relationships is an integral part of the org. I learned some new construction skills and always ended the day happy and accomplished. I don't hesitate to recommend ISF to anyone!

Useful course but too general perhaps
February 10, 2026William Valle - ItalyProvider: The TEFL Institute of Ireland
Program: Get That Glow-Up: Recognised, Highly-Respected TEFL Diploma!
Very good teacher but ideally I would have liked a more on hands and practical advice, maybe some country specific info to get a flavor of the different international job markets and its opportunities.
A comfortable introduction to TEFL
February 10, 2026Nuno Pinto - PortugalProvider: The TEFL Institute of Ireland
Program: Get That Glow-Up: Recognised, Highly-Respected TEFL Diploma!
It felt like a normal, standard yet comfortable and well-done introduction to the world of TEFL and looking at starting this career. Some information I think was a little bit too surface level but if you have no contact with this industry, it still feels relevant to attend, which was my situation going into this. I do think some topics were covered too superficially, for instance, what your certifications actually mean as far as getting a job, and which jobs/how far having certain teaching certs and English level in and of itself mean. A good experience overall, maybe should be slightly longer to allow for more in depth information on certain things.
Great webinar
February 10, 2026Neasa Wogan - IrelandVery helpful webinar, Emos covered a lot of content. It was helpful to find out more about the job process and applications. I liked how Emos had a lot of his own experience to bring to the webinar which was helpful.
