XMandarin Chinese Language School

I chose to have group class lessons for 3 days + 1 day of private lessons per week so that I could still have time to travel around and chill (since this was also a vacation for me). The class was small so everyone had the time to speak and practice the new topics. At the same time in group classes you have the chance to meet other students and that’s what happens to me. In the private class I chose to focus on conversation since it’s what I can’t do at home and it was very useful too. Since my level is still quite low at first I felt like I couldn’t understand one thing the teacher was saying. Little by little I think I improved a bit even though the road is still long!

I'm studying at the Xmandarin Qingdao campus. We have three 2-hour classes per week, taught entirely in Mandarin. Students are placed in small groups according to their language level, which allows for great practice and personal support from the teachers. I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs real guidance to improve their Mandarin

My experience abroad is fine it's just the class I'd like to give a review regarding the curriculum, I was told it would be a more oral chinese based class and really it's just another HSK textbook read through which doesn't help for life in china unfortunately, also it's only once a week I'm not sure if its the same for all private classes but really that's not enough to learn and retain information, just for the price of it I kind of expected more

I studied at the Hangzhou branch of Xmandarin for 10 weeks and my Chinese language level drastically improved. The school offers classes going thru real life topics you will use all the time in your daily life. My professor Teresa was amazing she was very knowledgeable and a great teacher who made everyone feel welcomed and encouraged to learn. The school also offers many outside activities that will help you learn about Chinese culture and meet more of the students.

XMandarin has been an absolute game-changer for me. I rocked up in Hangzhou a few months ago with 0 understanding of the languages and now I find myself more confident to speak or understand everyday chinese. The best part about this campus is that the classes don't feel like stuffy, boring lectures. The teachers are super energetic and push you to actually open your mouth and speak from day one, which is exactly what I needed to build my confidence. They make the grammar make sense without overwhelming you. Plus, the social side of the school is incredibly chilled. It’s a great environment to meet people, and it’s been so easy to make friends with other international students. We're always grabbing coffee after class or heading out as a group to explore the tea fields. Huge shoutout to the whole team for making learning such a fun ride. 10/10 would recommend!

Having the oportunity to learn chinese has given me the chance to know more about the Chinese culture,the history,its people and so much more. Taking Chinese classes has made this experience much easier because not only I can learn more about China,but I also get to meet people from all around the world which makes the experience a bit more easy. XMandarin is the place to be in Chengdu, the staff, community and classrooms are lively, supportive and fun! Located in the heart of the city next to a prime subway station, the campus is easily accessible, clean and modern. I couldn’t recommend studying here more!

The small group class sizes were perfect for me to learn in a fun and friendly environment. After class I would sometimes grab lunch with the teachers and then I would go for a walk along the pier because it’s just a 15 minute walk away! XMandarin also has some fun monthly events that I loved going to because I met new people and had some good laughs.

Last year my sojourn their went smoothly with light headcounts in class often turning to one-one teaching. Given that in the pure Asian tradition of blurred frontiers between sheer in-class activities and out-doors experience it's ideal for personal exchanges to know from the inside how this whole beast which China is frankly works, goes plus all the whys and wherefores only real-life and time can tell with intimate view-points and having this meaty examples/illustrations help you figuring out while better remembering the concepts. I have been working at a Chinese logistics company in Qingdao for the past few months, and I started private business Chinese classes at XMandarin to improve my communication at work. At first, I wasn’t sure if I really needed lessons, my coworkers mostly speak some English, but once meetings and emails got more serious, I realized how important it is to understand the language and business culture here. XMandarin really helped me with that. Wat ik vooral waardeer, is dat ze je stap voor stap helpen met het visum, dat pakken zij echt voor je op. De lessen zijn fijn, niet te groot, goed tempo, en de docenten zijn geduldig. In mijn groep is er altijd ruimte voor vragen, wat het makkelijker maakt om ook moeilijke dingen te begrijpen. Buiten de lessen om is het ook fijn dat het personeel je helpt met praktische zaken, zoals huisvesting of het leven in Qingdao. De stad zelf is relaxed, met veel leuke plekjes en dichtbij de zee. Als je serieus Chinees wilt leren en tegelijkertijd een visum nodig hebt, zou ik zeker aanraden om via XMandarin te gaan. Het scheelt veel zorgen en je leert echt iets.

XMandarin is a very good school if you're looking to learn Mandarin in Qingdao. I have been a student for a few weeks now and the teachers are very helpful and friendly. X Mandarin Thanks to this school I could come to Qingdao and learn Chinese. I am too old (62 years) to attend a course at the university, but here there are no limits of age and I am doing a 3 months course, integrating lessons in a little group and private lessons. The atmosphere in the school is really familiar, I normally arrive before the lessons start and I can stay in the lounge drinking coffee, finishing homework or reviewing the lesson. I am helped in my request for help (finding something in the city, problem with a Chinese telephone card...), and I have a lot of fun in the class with my small group and also with my private teacher. I'm also attending the cultural events of the school, a good occasion to learn more about China and to know other students from other classes!!

I'm Joss, I had the opportunity to come to Qingdao, China to join the XMandarin team as a marketing intern since the beginning of March. As my major is also related to Chinese, I also attend hsk 5 group classes twice a week! Overall I really enjoy my experience here, my colleagues are very kind and helpful and the work atmosphere is very nice. I get to learn many things about marketing and building partnerships with international companies and schools, as well as social media marketing, development, and content production, which I'm sure will come to be very handy for my future career. The classes are nice, our teacher is very kind and she has a great sense of humor, she manages to put us at ease and not be afraid to speak Chinese and make mistakes. Participation is probably the greatest aspect of my class, the teacher always engage with us by asking questions related to our life to practice what has just been learned, and my group only have between 4 to 5 people per class, which is great because it gives us a lot of opportunities to speak and practice our Chinese. Moreover, Qingdao is a beautiful city, the people are always nice and I get many opportunities to engage with locals wherever I go. Also the beach is only 20mn away from the school and I often go there on weekends for sunbathing and having a few drinks :) I also like the events organized by the school as they allow me to discover new places and have fun with the other students. I would definitely come back here with in the future!

Having a great experience with the XMandarin school. Supportive and helpful, easy going and friendly. Good support during the visa application process, usually via WeChat with Ray, getting a standard 6 month single entry visa from the Sydney Australia Chinese visa office wasn’t too difficult. Young and enthusiastic teacher Hayley teaches our Beginner 0 class, working through a textbook and digital slides in a group class. Advertised as a group of 8-9 but we had about 11-12, which still worked fine. Cluster of small neat classrooms on level 21 of a corporate tower, great common area with city views. Convenient location in Qingdao city, a few blocks away from the water. Close to subway/metro, major shopping centres. Plenty of cultural / city excursion type activities organised by the school, some free some paid. Definitely recommended ? Thanks for making my first time in China a good one! Danny

I came to China with another program before but nothing compared to my experience with xmandarin the course is great, everyone is really compromised to make the best experience ever. I had a great time learning Chinese at XMandarin. I had a small class (two or three students total), and a great teacher who supported us the whole time. She has a great way of teaching, making sure it stays interesting and we learn a lot. I always look forward to my classes. We’re using the HSK method, which works great.

We are having the best time of our lives ! It's been 5 years I am studying with Xmandarin. I'm now HSK5. The school is super well located in the city center of Qingdao. I love this city. Amazing environnement surrounded by the sea and mountains. The city is not too big, not too small, just perfect. Quite cheap and quiet. Perfect to make friends and live the best of your life !

Every process went smooth, they helped me with every detail and helped me solve the problems while living in China. Every two weeks there are activities to communicate with Chinese people and comprehend the culture. Teachers are also so kind and teach well. I definitely recommend!

For 5 months I did a marketing intership in XMandarin. They helped me through the whole process of coming to China. I learned a lot of the way of business in China. Besides the business part, we also always organized events in Qingdao with our students. This was one of the best parts of my experience in XMandarin. Other than working here, Qingdao is a great city and there also was time to visit other cities in China. The country is in my opinion amazing and I will for sure come back to visit China again.

My experience in Qingdao was one of the best I made as I have learned so much of Chinese and the culture, I would not have imagined a year before that I´d be so motivated in learning this language, as also having "simple" conversations in Chinese. Thanks to XMandarin, I can say that I have met so many people, made good friends with other students and teachers, and happy to say, and to realize, that the language isn´t that difficult after all, especially if your actually immersed in the culture, motivated to learn, and in a good language school, like Xmandarin is. Which provides you with a holistic approach to learning, and also organizes different cultural activities. The location of the school and it´s facilities are also very nice and convenient.

We did 4, 2 hour beginners classes which were great! We first learned how to pronounce the pinyin and applied this to useful words and phrases. Our class was of 15, but the teacher always ensured that everyone was pronouncing everything correctly before moving on. All in all, really useful classes!

My experience with X Mandarin has been very good. Our teacher is very skilled, friendly and patient. The classes are very interactive so you are having fun whilst you learn which makes for a great environment. I would definitely recommend the school to anyone looking to learn Chinese in a more relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

My teacher was very understanding and professional. Who also made our classes interesting and engaging. We did translations where we discussed the nuances of the different words which gave me better grasp of the language and helped me improve very quickly.

I am doing an internship in China and my organism is working with XMandarin to provide us Chinese class during our stay. I already learned Chinese before so I was a bit skeptical I would be put with beginners like usual but not at all! It's really awesome because they adapt your level to the level of the other students and I love my teacher cause she is providing exactly the course I need. At the beginning we were asked to explain what we were expecting of this course and I wanted to know more practical knowledge that I could use everyday here, that you don't really learn in normal Chinese class and this is exactly what we've been doing so far :D Every time we work with a new thematic, like shopping, phone and applications, food habits, environment and all... It's really interesting, there are so many foreigners from all over the world coming here and the employees are super open minded and friendly!
