Pacific Sea Turtle Program, Costa Rica

Volunteer in this sea turtle conservation project and work with Olive Ridley sea turtles along Drake Bay, Costa Rica. Drake Bay is home to an array of marine wildlife. Apart from sea turtles, volunteers may come across many species of dolphins and whales. The site volunteers will be working on is a 3.6-kilometer stretch of coastline, where between 150 and 250 Olive Ridley sea turtles nest every year. As the beach is only accessible by boat, the quality of the beach is incredibly high and the site is not regularly disturbed. The intention of this project is to monitor turtle activity and support the turtles through their journey by applying the gathered data.
