Duties as a conservation volunteer will therefore include night patrols to protect against poaching, flipper tagging of unmarked females, carapace (shell) measurements, egg counts, nest relocation, nest excavations, assisting with arranged community outreach projects with schools and groups, and camp maintenance. Program Highlights
Volunteer in the picturesque north east of the Island, a windswept piece of paradise that boasts a number of uninhabited offshore islands surrounded by coral reefs teeming with life.
Understand the dynamics of Grenada's leatherback turtle population and how the organization can best work with local communities to conserve this regionally significant nesting population.
Take part in a long-term study that aims to establish the stability of this population and the measures needed to be taken locally to ensure the population has a better chance of survival.
Help heighten the awareness of issues relating to sea turtles and the wider environment.
