Wakakusa Christian English Teachers in Japan

The Wakakusa English Program is a ministry that provides a Christian presence in Tamura, Japan, by sending native speakers from America to Japanese schools as English teachers and Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs). This program serves the community through excellent teaching and promoting international and cross-cultural understanding. Ultimately, Wakakusa demonstrates the love of Christ through English teaching, relationships within the Wakakusa team, and its service to the Japanese community. At the Wakakusa English School, teachers are given free rein to design their classes within the bounds of the curriculum. This includes planning classes and designing or creating props, flashcards, games, and teaching materials that suit their classroom goals.
