Volunteer Rugby Coaching in Swaziland

I had the most amazing time volunteering in Swaziland (which has since been renamed Eswatini) for 8 weeks with Volunteer Vacations. Volunteer Vacations did an excellent job pre-placement advising me on flights, travel insurance, passports/visa, coaches, vaccinations, and everything I needed to know so I arrived feeling fully prepared.
The placement was truly amazing. We went out with the Swazi rugby coaches and visited schools coaching rugby and talking to the kids about AIDS and handing them out leaflets on how they can stay safe. Whilst there we also painted the charity's logo onto the outside of schools, helped organise rugby tournaments, coaching sessions for the teachers....
In our spare time, we hired bikes and cycled round Mlilwane National Park, visited one of the parks to see all the African animals, did the zip wiring experience in Malaloja, and white water rafting which was relatively easy apart from the last bit which was challenging where I got out!
