The paid jobs all start at the lowest level of the Award Wage which is about USD 630 per week. From this tax is taken and food and accommodation. The nett wage (into your pocket) would be something in the region of $300 per week for those aged 20 and over. Those aged 19 - 90% of the adult wage and for those aged 18 80% of the adult wage. Interns usually command higher wages and pay less tax if they stay more than 6 months at one job.
