The MA in Creative Arts (concentration in Arts Administration, Arts Educator, or Studio Arts) examines the practices, discourses, literature, communities, and institutions pertaining to the arts in the Caribbean. It combines knowledge of the arts and culture, arts education, and sustainable community development with technological, entrepreneurial, and management skills. Students who choose to major in the Arts Educator track investigate the role of creativity in the arts and understand the variety of roles of an arts educator. The course provides a full experience of creative arts in action through visits to relevant settings such as schools, galleries, and museums as well as interaction with cultural organizations that collaborate with the Faculty. Those who major in this track actively engage in the pedagogical issues relating to the teaching of the Arts in the Caribbean. In this regard, the track is suitable for those interested in teaching in both formal and informal settings across the Caribbean. Students have the opportunity to enroll in a multicultural Caribbean campus and experience other cultures at a highly ranked and accredited university.
