Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias (Lusophone University of Humanities and Technologies - ULHT) or Lusófona University is the largest private university in Portugal. Established in 1987 and located in Lisbon, we have only been recognized as an institution of higher education in 1998. ULHT promotes Lusophony Studies and sees it as our major objective. Compared to other private universities in the city’s metropolitan area, we are the sole university that has guaranteed a sustained growth of teachers and students with a PhD degree in recent years.
ULHT has four Schools and five Faculties, all of which offer Integrated Masters, Undergraduate, and Postgraduation courses except the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Providing Integrated Masters and Continuous Training, this faculty is dedicated to education and research in agro-environmental development, animal protection and well-being, veterinary public health, and animal health. Other than Portuguese nationals, our student population consists of international and foreign students. Those from former Portuguese African colonies are given the privilege to settle substantially reduced fees.
