Turtle Watch Camp is located on the beautiful Tengah Island, seven nautical miles from Mersing, Malaysia. Our volunteer program has been established to protect sea turtles from poachers and other predators through controlled turtle hatcheries across the islands of Johor. Our main objective is to increase Green and Hawksbill turtle egg and hatchling chances of survival with the goal of sustaining endangered sea turtle populations. Our volunteers play a critical role to the continued sustainability of our hatchery processes and development of turtle conservation practices. Volunteers help monitor, patrol, and release hatchlings while carrying out various projects and educational programs to promote turtle conservation. The fees volunteers pay goes towards covering the costs of running the hatchery, food, accommodation, and logistics.
