The TU Summer University Staff is very friendly and will not hesitate to help you. They offer all assistance prior to your travel and you will not feel lost in your first days. Accommodation options are offered when you register for the course, but you can find cheaper options with a little more research. The social and cultural activities are really great. There are plenty of different options every week and you are free to join them whenever you are interesting. The city is affordable and safe. Moreover, the german language is not a must since a lot of people speak english, though it helps to know some basic words and phrases.
The course is interesting because it offers you a lot of freedom to create your own designs and to print them with technology that otherwise would not be available outside an industrial/business environment. Thus, prior knowledge of any modelling tool is really necessary to make the most from classes. The teachers are helpfull and will encourage you to explore your creativity and turn it into something real. It is a course focused in industrial-grade technology, but it would be nice if they provided access to regular 3D printers, so students could print more designs in less time, and to compare the pros and cons of each technology. Overall, it is a good course and a great experience.
