What if I am a complete beginner and can't understand basic Chinese?

Don't worry, our teachers will use minimal English or other languages (if needed) and rely on pictures, videos, signs, and gestures to help you understand them. As your Chinese improves, the use of English or other languages will decrease, gradually providing you with an immersive learning experience.

Having a great experience with Thats Mandarin so far! The teachers are all very attentive and capable, and especially in the one on one classes you can focus on exactly what you would like to, for example if you want to practice more conversational speaking, you can, or reading, you can also. The group classes are good for building foundational knowledge and learning from your fellow students. Overall I would recommend for people looking for a flexible start and end date for their Chinese lessons, compared to the uni courses which have specific timings for their semester starts / intakes.

Great school with excellent teachers! They were able to fit my wife and I in on VERY short notice with a customized class schedule within one day of our request! Would recommend to anyone who wants to learn Mandarin quickly. As an added bonus, they host fun social events which creates a nice sense of community, easy to meet other students from all around the world.
