Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), or Zhongda and Zhongshan University in colloquial Chinese, is a leading public research university in Guangdong. Founded in 1924 by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the country’s revolutionary and founding father, SYSU boasts of a long tradition in providing quality education. The University has four campuses: three in Guangzhou, including the main campus, and one in Zhuhai. A campus in Shenzhen, which will host a broad range of disciplines, is currently under construction (as of March 2017).
SYSU offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Social Sciences, Technology, Humanities, Medical Science, and other disciplines. The University consistently ranks among mainland China’s top 10 universities and takes pride in our ownership of Tianhe-2, the second fastest supercomputer in the world. We are also home to mainland China’s largest affiliated hospital system and Asia’s largest teaching building (Zhuhai Campus), according to acreage. An addition to our feats is the Triple Accreditation of two business education institutions: Lingnan (University) College and Sun Yat-sen Business School (SYSBS). This is an accolade that only 3 business schools in mainland China possess.
