A study abroad program designed and managed by the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD), the Study in Portugal Network (SiPN) is directed to students and universities in North America. With the support of several agencies, such as the US Embassy in Lisbon and Portuguese Ministry of Education and Science, SiPN provides participants the opportunity to stay in Lisbon for a summer, semester, or year. We seek to widen our reach in other countries as well and partner with other top-performing Portuguese universities.
SiPN is for various types of students. We cater to those with little to zero proficiency in Portuguese, allowing them to enroll in English coursework and language lessons. We also welcome those with advanced language skills, encouraging them to enroll directly in Portuguese university classes. Consequently, our classes make up direct enroll (taught in either English or Portuguese) and core curriculum (taught in English). The latter can be taken by international and local students, creating a multicultural atmosphere in the classroom.
