I did not move as a student to be honest, I just wanted to do a work experience abroad. We get visitors in the office throughout the day and we make sure that they don't leave the office with confusion or worrying about what to do in the UK.</p><p>Everyday we spend time on our social media platforms to interact with our customers and potential students in the UK. The environment in the office is always really good, as all my colleagues are the best to work with and so days go fast and any issues get sorted really quickly!</p><h3>Why do you do what you do?</h3><p>Because I have been in the situation of not knowing what to do abroad myself, so after sorting out my own path, I can now help others to enjoy their experiences abroad!</p><h3>What is your favorite part of your job?</h3><p>I think the best part of our job is interacting with our customers and making their dreams happen. It can be confusing to offer them advice when their culture is already so different. However, we always find a way to communicate and make sure that we do our best!</p><h3>What are some current projects you are working on?</h3><p>We are currently arranging meetings with our partners in their own countries to talk to students and their agents about how we can help them to come to the UK.</p><h3>What advice would you tell your pre-travel self?</h3><p>Please get a plane ticket and go! Make sure to not forget your passport. If you can have company, bring someone with you! It's scary to move to a new place on your own, but you will be fine!</p><p>Make sure you learn at least a few words of the new language and bring a dictionary with you, it is always helpful.</p><h3>What makes Student Works special?</h3><p>Our team is the best! We put 110% in our jobs and we do all we can to make sure we meet the expectations of our customers. I think this is what makes us special... the fact that we understand where students come from, and we really care about making them happy!</p><h3>Why should someone choose Student Works over other organizations?</h3><p>We are a happy team. We always update our programs and what we offer to match the new needs of our customers.</p><h3>What do you hope participants take away from your programs?</h3><p>We hope that they have a really good time in the UK and that their careers get a boost as well. Especially with our internship programs, we hope to get our students the best out of their placement for their future jobs!</p><h3>Why is it important for people to travel abroad, experience new cultures, learn new languages?</h3><p>The world is so small! Technology made it possible for us to go everywhere, experience everything, and meet new people from all over the world. However, it is sooo important to travel whenever possible and experience a new culture firsthand - be part of this small big world! It is so easy to travel now, so take advantage of it. I ensure you, it will be so worth it.</p><p>Learning a new language keeps our brain active. It is also very rewarding and when you find yourself being able to speak with someone in another country in their own language it's really satisfying.</p><h3>What does ethical global engagement mean to you?</h3><p>To me it means that we all have to engage with each other is a responsible way, we need to respect each other while learning new cultures, and we can do that by communicating with each other. That would be such a goal!</p>

<h3>What inspired you to work for Student Works?</h3><p>I was inspired by my future plans. I would like to get MA degree of Advertising at Bournemouth University. I have found an excellent opportunity to work at this company. It helps me to prepare for my future studies, improve my English skills, and get some experience in marketing, which should help me after studies.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><h3>Describe a typical day at work.</h3><p>I start my day by checking emails and answering customers questions. Also, I have to check social media websites to post our ads on there, and to seek new customers and help them. Sometimes, I have host family meetings. Don't be afraid to talk with customers and random people,&nbsp; otherwise you will never learn English very well. If you don't understand something, don't hesitate to ask.&nbsp;</p><h3>What makes Student Works special?</h3><p>The people who are working there! They are very helpful and always give me advice on how to do my tasks more efficiently. They never blame on me if I do something wrong. This organization is small but friendly. All customers are happy with our services, which is the most important thing.</p><h3>What hopes do you have for the future for Student Works?</h3><p>I hope that they will teach me a lot about the marketing and will show me how to use google AdWords, Google analytics, and SEO. I don't want to be a pro on this, but at least I would like to learn the basics of that.</p><h3>Why is it important for people to travel abroad and experience new cultures?</h3><p>It is important because you can learn and see a lot of things that you couldn't in your country. Every culture is different, therefore exploring them may improve your communication skills, language abilities, and even the knowledge of the world.&nbsp;</p><h3>Why do you think learning a new language is important?</h3><p>Every language is important. The more you learn, the better. I think every person should speak at least two languages fluently. My goal is to learn at least three languages. New language learning makes you smarter and helps to make some new friends all over the world.&nbsp;</p><h3>What advice do you have for individuals thinking about going abroad?</h3><p>Just do it. The first couple weeks will be a little bit difficult, but after some time you will start to enjoy for being in there and learn things what you couldn't do in your country. After some time, when you will come back to your motherland you will have learned a lot more than those who haven't been abroad.&nbsp;</p><h3>What does meaningful travel mean to you?</h3><p>Meaningful travel to me is when you remember it all your life - when you learn things that you will remember forever and meet people who will be your friends.</p>

<h3>What inspired you to work for Student Works?</h3><p>I came across the company through a university presentation. The job description covered a range of activities completed on a typical day at work. This appealed to me because of the range of skills and responsibility I could develop in a small firm compared to working for a bigger organisation.&nbsp;</p><figure class="awesome-image centered" style=""><img style="" src="http://www5.goabroad.com/images/interviews/magic-sibanda3-1548917138.jpg" alt="Futbol team"><figcaption class="caption"><p></p></figcaption></figure><h3>Describe a typical day at work.</h3><p>I start with an hour of emails, between 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The next hour is dedicated to social media marketing and interacting with customers, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Each day of the week has a different task for the hour after. I could be advertising new accomodation for that week or checking rent payments. The next hour in the calendar is normally left free for the last hour just before lunch, this allows time to catch up the morning tasks if any customers come through the door.</p><figure class="awesome-image right-aligned" style="width: 300px;"><img style="" src="http://www5.goabroad.com/images/interviews/magic-sibanda4-1548917308.jpg" alt="Mask shop"><figcaption class="caption"><p></p></figcaption></figure><p>After lunch depending on the day we might be finding new businesses to work with or chasing students to see if they are still interested in proceeding with our services. My 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. slot is left to go over emails and social networking sites. Then 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., depending on the day, can be spent visiting a host family, doing a house viewing, or filing office papers into folders.<br></p><p>No day is the same; the tasks in the calendar are there as a guide, but things can be moved around if needed.&nbsp;<br></p><h3>What is your favorite part about your job?</h3><p>Interacting with customers from different backgrounds. Both doing the interviews and visiting host families makes the role more unique, because not many roles allow you to do a range of tasks. The families visited and people interviewed are always different, even though you are&nbsp; doing the same task it doesn't feel repetitive.&nbsp;</p><h3>How do you use your education and international background in your current role?</h3><p>At university I study events and leisure marketing, so some of the theory and concepts learnt from university is applied to the role. One of the units I took in my second year was digital marketing communications. The drip marketing techniques covered in the unit are now used in the workplace. Staff members are multilingual making it easier for customers from different countries to communicate.&nbsp;</p><h3>What questions do participants often ask you, and how do you typically respond?</h3><p>Most the questions we get are around visas, such as &ldquo;Can you help me get a visa?&rdquo; or &ldquo;Will I be able to get a visa to come to the UK?&rdquo; We have Google Drive documents with all the requirements for the UK visas, so these are attached to the responses we send back and links to .gov.uk are also included for more information.</p><figure class="awesome-image centered" style=""><img style="" src="http://www5.goabroad.com/images/interviews/magic-sibanda1-1548917177.jpg" alt="Bungee Jumper"><figcaption class="caption"><p></p></figcaption></figure><h3>Why do you think learning a new language is important for travelers?</h3><p>It opens you up to new experiences and allows you to connect on a deeper level. Because you speak the same language, nothing can be lost in translation. It also makes it easier to meet new people, since you have something in common.</p><h3>What advice do you have for individuals thinking about going abroad?</h3><p>Don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone in your home country. You never know who you will meet or how life will pan out if you do decide to move to another country. Apart from seeing new places and eating different food, you will also get the opportunity to get to know yourself.</p><h3>What does meaningful travel mean to you?</h3><p>Not just travelling and taking pictures of beautiful sites, but also getting to know the culture and people of the destination you visit. This requires you to visit places not included as tourist destinations to visit.</p>
