Founded in 2010, St. Bridget was started by a group of parents in Yenzuva - a village in Mwingi District, Kenya - as a self-help group. Their main goal was to construct a primary school that welcomes kids living far from the center. St. Bridget offers free, quality nursery and primary level education with a pickup system. The center receives financial support from Yenzuva Education et Santé (Yenzuva Education and Health), allowing us to build a new classroom each year, as well as a bookstore in 2015.
St. Bridget Primary School has around 600 students, often with over 50 children in each class. With the lack of teachers, assistance from volunteers around the globe is highly encouraged. We also need individuals who can help prepare lunch and provide care to the kids. So far, the participation of qualified individuals has enabled the school to produce excellent results comparable to other schools in the district.
