Shanti Uganda Society, established in 2008, provides safe women-centered care and support as well as services for mothers and infants. The organization is focused educating pregnant women and empowering women living with HIV/AIDS in Uganda. Shanti Uganda Society is also working towards health and wellness programs most specially for pregnant teenagers and how they can improve their maternal health.
Shanti Uganda addresses the challenges of living with HIV through the Women’s Income Generating group. The program helps these women to be independent and to learn how to live on their feet. Women are taught the basic skills and trained on managing business. These women are paid above fair prices through their products who are sold throughout North America.
