- Genuine interest in working with children in the outdoors
- Experience teaching environmental education or outdoor recreation
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to relate with people of all ages
- Positive manner
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- In good physical condition
- Ability to live in and handle tropical climate conditions
- Ability to live in an isolated place, not in proximity to the community
- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends
