Program Duration

July 7 - December 8, 2017 (5 months)


- Minimum bachelor’s university degree
- Minimum 2 years experience in the classroom
- ESL/ELL certification (TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent) preferred
- Commitment to interactive and engaging education
- Professionalism and passion
- Experience traveling, living and/or teaching abroad preferred
- Interest in Tanzania's indigenous cultures and traditions
- Ability to live in a developing community
- Flexibility to work individually and as part of a diverse team

USD $60 approx each month to cover food/water

Program Fees Include:

Program fees include: Red Sweater Project does not charge program fees but we offer the following:

• We pick you up at Kilimanjaro Airport and transport you to your new home
• We arrange and furnish housing
• We provide orientation, familiarizing you with life in Tanzania and office operations
• We provide a computer (but you are welcome and encouraged to bring your own)
• We provide assistance with travel planning and arrangements
• We welcome your input and value your suggestions

Volunteers are responsible for their:
• Living expenses (US$200-300/month average)
• Airfare, visas, and immunizations (between US$300-800)
• Health insurance and medical expenses (if any)
